UAW Adsense Blogging Experiment - 6 blogs/3 months

I've recently started an experiment with a few domain names I own. Three of them are domains I've had for a while that have been sitting around with a blank wordpress default theme doing nothing and three are domains I've bought from GoDaddy Closeouts with PR1, 2 & 3 especially for this.

I've themed them so that they display 336x280 Adsense blocks in the single posts at top and bottom and on the home page a 468x60 above the excerpts and 336x280 at the bottom. I've also put a link unit at the top of the sidebar.

I have 20 excerpts at a time on the main index page and 20 recent post links in the sidebar. There's also a categories list in the sidebar and an Amazon.com dynamic widget 160x600 banner.

Essentially what I'm going to do now is to put a version of every Unique Article Wizard article I've ever written onto each site. I've also installed the UAW plugin to auto-post other people's articles onto the site. The aim is to quickly build up a lot of 'semi' unique content without doing any manual posting and test how fast different sites - with and without PR - can get traffic and what kind of CTR/income they produce in the next 3 months.

The idea is that these sites are very quick and easy to set-up and maintain and because they are not new domains and/or have a little authority they should have the capacity to rank reasonably well for some of the low comp. keywords I've used in my UAW articles and for other long-tail keywords that inevitably get traffic with any large amount of content. It will take hardly any work on my part. I'll occasionally backlink any posts and keywords that get traffic.

I set the first one up yesterday (Welcome to ControlFreaks.tv) and it has 48 posts on it already. Some of those posts as well as some of the tags, pages and categories have already been indexed. I bought this a week ago for $9 from GD.

I hope to be able to work out a strategy for building a number of these sites over a year and share the technique with anyone looking for a way to get traffic easily. I expect the PR domains will work best, but things don't always work out the way they seem.

If anyone's interested in getting some updates let me know and I'll come back and post progress reports.

this should be an interesting set of results. For I was actually thinking of doing something similar with free blog platforms. Since I am only using it as a test I will not be to worried about promoting them or pretty much do anything with them other then every few days go find them some new content. I have 50 post on the one I started the other day to see if autobloggin does infact work. It is posting about 3 post a day and has enough to last for a few days.

I would like to hear your results on your test. I will come in here and share mine as well. Best of luck to you.

Awesome! I was going to do a blogger blog too, but I realized I don't know much about auto-posting on blogger so I decided to let it go. I've had some interesting results with blogger experiments before, including one stupid little two pager on a certain brand of designer handbag that is currently double-listed at #1 & #2 in Google right above the official authority site for the brand name! It earns a nice little income from one Adsense square and about 15 minutes of effort. I think there is a lot of potential in free blogging platforms, not least of all being - they're free! I'm looking forward to comparing some notes.

Quick update: second site set up and running. First site now has 530 posts and 95 indexed pages. Starting to get some backlinking done too.

Interesting post James. It might be a good idea to add more blogs to try it out, since it doesn't take too much effort to put one up anyway. Are you going to add backlinks from the get go?

Wondering what Adsense Mgr plugin you are using and if you are happy with it.

For the time being I'm going to stick with the six I have for this project. I have a lot of other sites that are very niche focused and I'm starting to spread my efforts across my portfolio a bit thin as it is. The idea of this project is to test the waters with an anti-niche site. In effect I'm aiming to build my own article directory, except I'm submitting all the content myself.

I am backlinking from the get go. I'm using Unique Article Wizard, posting to article directories, commenting on blogs and setting up profile links for certain posts that I've written or I've had guest posters write. I'm not backlinking to the auto-posts I receive yet, but if and when any of these posts receive traffic I'll note the keywords that refer them and backlink those keywords.

I don't use an Adsense manager plugin. I manually code in php and then style through CSS so I can have it exactly as I want.

Nice experiment. I have a blog with UAW plugin. So far it generated a good income and ranking in google. Basically I make backlinks to this blog.

I've created a blog with a content from seo linkvine, uaw and article ranks, it's less than a month old and not getting any traffic yet but most of the pages are indexed, how are your blogs coming along?

Interesting - it looks as if controlfreaks.tv was sold on flippa - https://flippa.com/auctions/112033/C...s-On-Autopilot - not sure where it is now.
