Google Maps Change!

Has anyone noticed that the Google Maps for local search is showing up on the right side?

Are they testing things or is something wrong with my browser?

  • For some reason it shows up differently for me. There are still Adwords at the top and the places are in the middle enlarged. Here's a picture which shows it better..

  • Yeah, that's exactly what I see! okay, so I'm not alone on this :0)

    I do SEO for local clients so I kinda got scared a bit with a sudden change.
  • They rolled the update out across their servers today.
  • I was #1 in the rankings and #2 (B) in the local listings. It seems this change has knocked me to the very top now. It would be nice if them Adwords links would move to the right now.
  • For some reason I'm still getting the old page on Internet Explorer.. but getting the new layout on Firefox. I've cleared my cache, logged out and disabled web history etc. Here it is in IE...

  • Weird, I cleared everything as well but I still see the same thing in I.E.

    I thought maybe it was something fishy with a Firefox plugin or something.

    • I just saw this too!! This freaks me out - it's a huge change. It moves about half of the listing that were under the local map to the next page, right?? Like 6 listings are moved to the next page, which really messes with the natural order as I was comfortable with it.
  • yeah, definitely does change things. If they decide to keep it like that then it's going to be a new battle for Google Map rankings.
  • whah, map on right side is stationary, while I scroll with page, right side adword ads are scrolling under map...and became invisible...lol
    Big change.

  • its surely is a big change as the most of the listings went down as per seo point of view some of the website need to get more from google maps.
