I have read a few posts stating that Adsense isn't a good source of income anymore. I have started working on a website for Adsense and i want to know if adsense ads really has died off. Feedback would be appreciated.

Well, just today I got a very, very nice amount put into my bank account for last month.

I say go for it but first take your time reading the threads around here.
Be careful though who you take counsel from.
Adsense works, of that there is no doubt but you must follow exact steps to the letter.

    Good luck searching

Thanks Craig. I just don't want to have my site finished then find out that adsense is totally pointless now.

You don't need a site as highly trafficed as ebay to make good money with adsense. The people that are saying that it is not a good source more than likely aren't making money with it. One of my sites make over $5k a month on adsense alone.

With adsense you need to pick the right keywords, good cpc and consistently work on seo. Also doing seo for 20-30 high cpc keywords is how you will do well with adsense.

I don't make a full time income with adsense but I do make about $400 a month with Adsense alone.

Don't disregard Adsense because some sites are better off with Adsense or without Adsense. It just all depends on what the site is all about...

I make on average $15-20 a day with Adsense. So no, not full time money, but not bad since it is an income stream I barely even think about and set up the ads years ago.

AdSense isn't predictable so I wouldn't rely on it to cover the mortgage.

You also need more than one website - unless your one website is ebay of course.

And another thing to think about is the time involved to make Adsense pay. Especially with SEO... But if the keywords are right are you actually work on the site a little every day (or every other day), it will pay off.

I started a site back in May that has been plugging along slowly. Average clicks pay between 80 cents and $2.

Started off article marketing to get some traffic, and have added a focused CPA offer as well. I am not getting floods of traffic, but this site keeps marching on as I work on it maybe three days a week for an hour or so per day.

Currently up to about $20 per day (whoo-ee!!) but I anticipate this to get up to the $50 per day area in the next three or four months.

Again, nothing to write home about; but this site should cover my monthly expenses.

So it takes times, but Adsense can pay with the right keyword targeting and continued effort.

I also get a good sum from Adsense, but I earn more from EPN and other sources. Maybe one day I'll focus on Adsense and scale it. I know that there are a couple of people who earn full time with Adsense, however I've yet to have any success with their methods.

Making decent money with AdSense is not fast or easy. You will either have to do a lot of grunt work (the Zombie Blogging approach), or a lot of analysis and testing (the XFactor approach). If you're not willing to do either of those, AdSense is probably the wrong core model for your business, and you should consider it an ancillary income stream.

Spot on my man - and the problem most new people have when they hear about others successes is that they think that they just follow program "x" to a "t", they'll score big.

It takes time, patience, and a willingness to test/test/test some more. There are guides and approaches to implement, but until you put the work in to see what works best for YOU, then you'll have a hard time succeeding.

I make a good amount from adsense. It's definitely easier to get clicks than to get an affiliate sale. And i won't have to worry about any product losing it's popularity (which can be the case with products).

I guess many get discouraged cause of the low income you start off with adsense. But once you get to a higher income with adsense, it's very consistent.

It is perfectly fine to have them both on a page. I have both on my site. You cannot put yahoo publisher network and google adsense at the same page, but affiliate networks are fine.

Here is the logic - In my opinion:

AdSense, or to that matter, any Adsense Like Ads can only give you enough money if your website is getting HUGE amount of traffic. PERIOD if you didn't notice that tine little dot.

Exceptions are there, and those are there only for the websites built especially for AdSense.

    Hope that helps.

Can someone please give me some example of affiliate websites as compared to adsense websites? I keep hearing that affiliate websites are better but i'm not too sure what they even are =/. If someone can reiterate at tell me what the difference is i would greatly appreciate it.

I make around $150 per month with Adsense right now, but I'm putting in a lot of grunt work with one site I have that is slowly starting to increase in earnings and rankings. I also earn money via affiliate earnings as well, but Adsense has it's place for sure. I don't get many clicks per day, but when I do, they are usually around $1-$2 per click.

It does take some time, but once things get rocking, the income is essentially passive for the most part, and I'm all about passive income.

I am at around $1000 per month- but its been a long learning curve, took me a while to find the right process and to outsource the marjority of the work.

I believe the best guide around (I own it) is FatCat Blueprint - (I dont make a commission or anything) - it just makes sense, when you follow, do the work (a lot of it) and learn/modify.

I have read this thread with interest because it seems that Adsense is the ONLY way I can make money That and Amazon - 2/3 of my $$ comes from Adsense clicks and the other 1/3 from Amazon commission. My income goes up each month, but I am only at about $400 from Adsense and $200 from Amazon.

I would love to add another income stream or two. I have tried to use Clickbank but I have yet to make a sale.

I aspire to be like Steve.

The reward/effort ratio is not the best ... however I think once you have it running it just keeps going.

I have sites that make me a few dollars every day which I do not touch. I love this concept and am working toward Adsense being a massive part of my earnings.

You can definitely make a fulltime income from adsense; however, you have to target niche keywords that have high cost per click. Adsense is extremely easy to scale if you know what you're doing. I usually recommend it as a starting point for newbies as it's not very difficult to get off the ground. There is just something about making your first $100 or $1000 that empowers you. Plus you can develop a residual income without too much work or money.

Yes! There are many people I know who are making good income from adsense. I also make some income from adsense campaign, but it requires good sense of working as it is called.
Many people don't even know that the last on the list of adsense programme "Park domain" is very good for money making but you must use traffic techniques to get clicks to make money. You can also use adwords to get traffic.
Lastly, I categorically say yes; you can make consistent income from adsense.
You just have to start slowlly and gradually gain momentum.

How many websites is that earned from?

There are loads of posts like this but no-one states how many websites it took to earn the money and how long it took to start earning more than peanuts.

So people new to AdSense can be doing it all wrong and give up on it too soon.

As of today (10/31) I am sitting at $410 from Adsense (I will be over $420 before the day is over). This is from 23 websites - some are about 10 months old, others are less than 4 months old. 80% of that income was made from 14 of those sites.

On top of that I have made just under $200 from Amazon sales. Those sales came from 13 of these sites.

BTW - I only do this part time, 5 to 10 hours per week. If I could devote two or three times that much time my income would increase by that much So I do believe that you can make a full time income with Adsense if you can work full time - or close to it. I am making a good part time income, and it grows each month. I couldn't get a part time job where I can set my own hours, work as much or as little as I want and make this money. If you figure 5 hours per week (which is usually what I can do) I am making roughly $30 per hour from my part time job At 10 hours per week I am still making $15 per hour.

I will get to full time income, it will just take me a bit longer than people who can devote more time.

That comes from about 20 websites, but $250 of it comes from just 3 of them. The key for me has been building many websites and working hard on the ones that give the best results.

Adsense is a great way to make passive income except when it is exasperating! I'm making about $700 a month from 30 websites having started about a year ago and Google suddenly decided to smack most of my sites down a few pages in the rankings. Almost all my sites were page 1 or 2 and now they are scattered as far back as page 10 . My top 3 sites brought in about 70% of the income and luckily they didn't get hit (knockonwood). I'm hoping the others come back soon but in the meantime, there's no other option but to keep plugging away.

Though! One can make a full time from adsense but one need to consider about the risk it entails for having adsense account and to maintain it; as account can be closed down at any time and no one can contest it, you may not no the reason for such action.
I'm using my self as an example, because my account was just closed down, I presumed it might be because of my last contribution on this forum.
Even though! I don't have any cent in the account I was accused of fake clicks which was not so.

I like Adsense because you don't have to do the preselling job that affiliate marketing requires. For myself anyway, I've found it easier to get visitors to click on an ad after reading my content, than to buy a product through my link.
