I use Market Samurai which links into Googles own keyword.

I like it because it not only tells me the search volume but also the amount of sites which are targeting those keywords.

    I use the following

    1. Google Keyword Tool - create my keywords list

    2. WordStream (Free version) - create more keywords and also group my keywords into themes for the Google COntent Network Campaigns.

    3. PPC Keyword Genie to generate lots of combinations of long tail keywords. I bought that from a wso here in this forum.

    4. PPC Keyword Toolz to actually generate my campaigns - There's a WSO for that too here. This is very nice tool.

It also shows how many people look for keywords on Google each month and the number of bidders competing for these conditions AdWords .

  • I used to use a variety of 3rd party tools, but the Google Adwords keyword tool is being constantly updated, now (Oct 2010) to the point that it feels as if you are getting an inside view of Googles mind.

For example put any search term (without any filtering) into the Google Adwords Keyword tool and you'll get back a load of words google considers related to that term.

I then use these words to "peel and stick" into a seperate ad group or make them negative keywords either at group level or campaign level.

In summary I'd rather be a close to googles processes as possible in working with keywords.

first I use google adwords tool to narrow down a search and then I plug those keywords into my micro niche finder. I love it because it will tell me the amount of backlinks that the top 10 rankings sites have.
