Profile Links Work or NOT? Here is the Result Of My Research in Last 6 Months...

Hi all,

Profile links are one of the most discussed topics on SEO community. So, back on Mart 2010, I decided to make my own separate research about the effectiveness and weight of profile links.

I have tested 3 of my static niche sites and used only profile links from forums and other communities. At the same time I worked on SEO of my other same type static niche sites for comparison.

I have really been amazed with the results. I discovered that profile links are one of the 3 most effective and fast backlinks today. The sites I tested got some significant jumps on Google within 7-10 days for medium competitive keywords. This is very important. Not all links can do this job. I have got the same results with only 2 other strategies before in my SEO practice, so it surprised me a lot.

Best of all, the results are effective for long term. Mainly the result changes like this: 7-10 days after getting profile links, you see sudden jumps in SERPs, after few days SERPs decrease a bit and then after some days SERPs go higher.

If anyone has other experience or want to say about the profile links, then feel free to post your comment below.

I am going to do another research for other sites, too. Hope it is helpful for you.

Feel free to post opinions about your experience with profile links.

best,

Orkhan Azer

hehehe... That backlinks product is not about profile links. They are different. Who knows...may be in the future I will share my "best profile links", too.

      best,

Sadly, i think the work you've done to test will appear, to those who disbelieve or have an axe to grind against profile linking as one of the many viable backlink building methods, as flawed or tainted by your sig file and the type of link builder you are.

However; there is pretty much a significant body of work done by some many others - that conclude the same as you. They do work, can work - when done properly.

    Test for yourself folks ...

No. I already explained that this test has nothing to do with my sig file. The packages in my sig file are not about profile links. They are from my other experiments. I would never open a topic to promote my sig file. So, hope everyone will understand it as a result of test.

I already discussed this topic with some othr SEO experts who have really and seriously used these links for their sites. The results speak for themselves. PROFILE LINKS WORK LIKE CRAZY. I hear a lot of voices like "Profile links are not effective anymore" and so on. That is why I decided to open this topic and share my huge research in this area that proves them wrong.

      best,

Profile backlinks are great to start out with. Most people don't realize that not all profile links are created equal. In a recent experiment I got a first page landing with less than 40 of the right ones and went to a PR1 (just a test site) just doing that.

Eventually though you find that you will need to graduate as in add some higher page PR page links but its a very effective way of getting going.

yeah right - then remove it

I second that. There are some profile links that will get nice SEO benefit, and there are some that will get you zero value.
And also, I would say that not same profile links would give same value to different sites.

For everybody talking about about good vs. bad profile links .... how do you determine "effective" profile links from "waste of time" profile links?

I would like to know the answer to this, as well.... do you mean like high PR being good and low PR is not so effective?

I am not a big profile backlinker but one of the big problem some newbies make is using profiles or forums that you have to LOG INTO. The problem here (obviously) is that GOOGLE cannot login and therefor CANNOT read/see/index your link

Of course it is ok to login to MAKE your profile but then they need to show up to the public once posted.

I am sure there are other problems but that is by far the biggest and easiest one to avoid.

                Also:

                - Yes High PR is going to give you more Bang
                - Make sure to make your link have your keywords in it (anchor text).

Here are the BB CODES if that is what the forum uses

                GREAT Online Marketing Course

Raw BB Code Above Looks like this:
                [abc]http://somesite/[/abc]
                or [abc=http://somesite/]Site Name[/abc]
(I put ABC instead of URL so you could see the Raw Code ... change if you want to use it)

                Cheers,

Im interested in the speed/timeline of your profile link building.

Did you build links at a gradual and consistent pace, like 1-20 profile links per day - every day, or did you do bursts of many links at a time?

Were they manual or software made?

Really I'm most interested in how many profile links you built in total to the test site, what the final result was(Rank of the site) and the length of time/schedule of posting..

Thank you so much for sharing this experiment, I was thinking of doing something very similar myself...

              Mark.

I have had good results from one Profile link pack and dismal from another. While I agree with you, I also have to agree with test, test and when you're sick of testing test some more.

Always remember: those afraid of big tests wind up with little testies.

I just started to get into profile linking. I do it full out though. So it will have a long-term lasting affect.

I find that most people just sprinkle links in a profile link, will that stick long-term or get indexed? Doubt it.

When I build a profile, I go buck wild. I fill in everything Location, Hobbies, etc. I write a three paragraph about me. I sprinkle links in context of the about me. I add an avatar, the whole nine.

I then make 3-5 well thought out and 100% on topic forum posts with no sig lines at all. This really helps get them indexed.

I then social bookmark the link in a bunch of sites. You could do a blog comment link tied to your name. To again, get the profiles indexed.

This way everything looks 100% legit. The moderators appreciate the extra time. If I was ever manually reviewed, it looks great.

I consider this a long term link effort. It takes time, but sticks.

I have never tried profile back linking as a major backlinking strategy, but if I had to do it, this makes sense. It may require more time and effort, but its the "work hard now and reap BIG benefits later" approach that is usually the safest and most effective long term.

      Drip Feed Blasts

It doesn't really matter if the links stick when there are, um...

TWO FREAKING THOUSAND OF THEM A DAY!!

And as far as getting indexed, I just use this.

backlinks from profiles can be a powerful part of a link building strategy. I would not try relying on that alone. Instead try to mix it in with other SEO methods. I would also recommend that you take the time to manually do it and contribute to various forum communities for best results.
