Just use WP with some SEO plugins (all in one seo or yoast) and you will be fine

IMO Joomla is awful. It's quite difficult for users to do even a simple thing like add a new page. It's bloated and heavy. Yuk! If I can't use WP I use MODx.

Your question is like saying "What's a better car, Honda or Toyota?" You can make bad sites with wordpress and bad sites with joomla. You can make great sites with both, too. Your blog/content management system is/can be/should be independent of your content.

I guess the answer is to figure out what good SEO looks like on the page (or in your HTML source) and then trace it back so your platform (whatever it may be) will provide exactly that.

      Css&html for small niche sites ( 10-15 pages ), wordpress/joomla for bigger sites ( 30 posts + ) with regular updates.
