Issues With SEOLinkVine

Hi everyone:

I have been doing SEO for around 12 years and I consider myself some what of an expert at SEO. I have websites in the number one spot of Google, Yahoo, and other search engines in some of the most competitive markets. These sites have been there for years.

I joined SEOLinkVine to enhance my SEO efforts. I wanted to get several sites that were on page 1 of Google but not yet in the number one spot to the top of the rankings and have been so disappointed.

One of these sites has been in the number 3 to 5 spot of Google on page 1 for many years until I started using SEOLinkVine. Now, it has vanished from Google's rankings. This was an important site and made alot of money for my business.

Another site was on page 1 of Google in about the 3rd to 8th spot and once I started promoting it here, it has dropped to page 8.

I could mention several other sites but this will suffice.

I know there can be certain other variables but the only thing I changed in my marketing efforts was to use SEOLinkVine. I looked at other discussions and this has happened to others as well.

I have writers who write the highest quailty unique artciles, spin them thoroughly, and then we post them on SEOLinkVine so I make sure I market correctly. I change my anchor text so they are not all the same and do everything I have always done for 12 years.

So, has this happened to anyone else? I am very interested in finding out.

Thank you,
Scott T. Phelps

interesting...I never signed up for it cause I think its not a sustainable model. Google is smarter than seolinkvine to understand what your sites are doing and may be a major reason to the drop...I would never use it for any of my sites....

Ditto on this point. Any program that you pay for backlink manipulation is going to easily be tracked by Google in terms of where these links are coming from.

They may work, but I'm not so sure it is a safe practice for your quality websites out there.

Scott, I'm personally not a fan of the network but I highly doubt it is causing the issue. How many sites were posting your articles? Are the links still there or are they being deleted days or weeks later?

There is no clear footprint from using SEOLinkvine so it really should just look like every other wordpress blog. It might be a problem with the quality of the participating blogs and not the way SEOLinkvine works itself...but in reality they are one of the same.

I really don't think that SEOlinkVine is the cause for your sites vanishing. It just doesn't make any sense as there are not footprints showing that you are using that specific network as each article is being posted on various wordpress blogs.

Also, if this was the case, what will prevent us from using SEOlinkVine to build links to our competition and getting them deindexed...

And in any case, I think you will get a lot more for your money using Unique Article Wizard (UAW). It is the same price as SEOLinkVine but it delivers so much more.

I have used both and UAW is far better than SEOLinkVine and if you have people writing article for you, than you should really check it out.

I mean this with the up most respect, but I cancelled my seolinkvine membership after 3 weeks having realised it was a waste.

On another note I would like to say D Baker is right, UAW certainly does give more bang for buck although I do think it's not as good as it used to be. Having used UAW for 2 years I have found, for me personally it's just not worth the effort. Reason's being:

    - Constant problems over miniscule errors in grammar ( Seems there workers are taking it tooooo far for what are typically junk article sites).

    - Low index rate compared to what it used to be

    - Only works in volume in my opinion

Now many will argue that what I am saying is wrong, but I have had some amazing results, far better that UAW using Article Marketing Robot. Man, that tool is awesome!

Scott, with all due respect, it's a coincidence. I'm 110% sure it has nothing to do with SEOLV. I have hundreds of sites in the network, as do a TON of people I'm in daily contact with and NONE have been affected.

There is nothing blak hat about it. I can understand sites that do nothing but social bookmarking and foruum profile linking running into issues, but writing articles and posting to legit blogs is not on Google's "to do list" of things that are "bad".

Chloe, article syndication is probably one of the MOST sustainable long term link building methods.

Just setting the record straight here. This has nothing to do with SEOLV and article syndication. I can say with 110% confidence that this is a coincidence.

      Thanks everyone for your replies.

First, let me say that I know Brad puts out great products so don't mistake what I am saying.

Brad, I in no way I am saying for sure that this is why these sites dropped from view in the rankings. I want you to know that I hope it is not from using SEOLinkVine. I was very excited about this service when it came out and have hoped that I would get the results that your sales page stated. I even have no issue with the cost if it works.

However, I can assure you that I have changed nothing in my marketing efforts other than using SEOLinkVine. The problem is that it has occurred on more than one site and not just one. If it was just one site, I could understand that there may be some other issue but that is not the case here.

I have tracked the submissions of my articles using Google alerts and across the board, they have all ended up on junk blogs with no PR. That is a fact. Now, there may be a few that I did not find that have made it to decent blogs but I have not seen them. I remember reading on your sales page that the network was high quality but I have not seen that at all. I have only seen these junk auto blogs with no PR. I am not sure if this would be a factor with Google but it might be.

Again, I hope I am wrong on this and that these sites of mine that have dropped out of the rankings will come back full force in even better shape than before. Maybe it is just part of the Google dance and they will come back strong. If this is turns out to be the case, then I will be the first to shout the benefits of SEOLinkVine.

I will stay with SEOLinkVine a bit longer. I have been using it for 5 full months and have not seen good results on any sites but will stick it out a bit longer.

      Thank you,
      Scott

I find that any time I build many links to one of my websites, the rankings take a dip, and then 4 weeks or so later, they come back higher than they were before. I am using SEO Link Vine, and that has been my experience with it. I am also using SENuke, and have hired teams to build links for me in the past. Consistantly, I have seen this pattern. I think link building is kind of like exercising. It hurts for a bit when you change routines, but ultimately helps you in the long run.

My only complaint about SEO Link Vine is that it only shows a percentage of the article that is spun, rather than a percentage of the content that is unique when spun 16 times like SENuke does.

I have checked thoroughly now on my one site that has been on page 1 for the last 4 years or so. It is now 411 in ranking so it is virtually gone.

I did nothing and have built good links to it through the years. As I said, this could be a Google algorithm change but I don't know why it would do it to this site. I only made one change and was to use SEOLinkVine.

Another site was finally on page 1 and then I started using SEOLinkVine and is now totally gone!

I have no idea what is going on. If this is the Google algorithm change, I don't know why it is effecting my sites this way.

I hope we can solve this as I am baffled.

      Thanks,
      Scott

Scott, we already know that you're stating your sites dropped in Google. The reality is, LOTS of people's sites dropped in Google the past 2 weeks. (This includes millions of "non" SEOLV users). Do some Google searches and you'll see that Google had some algorithm changes, which they ALWAYS do during the holiday season.

The drop has nothing to do with SEOLV at all. As I said before, it's a coincidence. I also sent you a pm and gave you my personal email address so I could look at your website, but I've not heard from you. Instead you post here again stating that SEOLV hurt your rankings.

Scott, I am trying to help you figure this out, but it really would be helpful if you would listen to what I'm saying (i.e. it has nothing to do with SEOLV)

Please email me, and I'll be more than happy to help you get to the bottom of your drop.

        Thank you.

        Brad

Update: I looked at your account. Did a search on your name and found your account. You've been a member for 5 months, Scott. That's almost a half a year. And it sounds like SEOLV had to have actually played a role in moving your sites up in the first place. Had I not looked up your account and only read your original post, I would have assumed you were a member for only 1-2 weeks.

You've been using SEOLV for 5 months and all was "fine" (or you would have stopped paying) until 11-3-2010 when you stated your sites dropped. Based on that, I'm really baffled how you can claim SEOLV has anything to do with your drop.

          Hi Brad:

I did email you last night by the way. I never heard back.

I said in a previous part of this thread that " I have been using SEOLinkVine for 5 full months". I was continuing with the service because I thought I would begin to see some of my other sites start to climb from page 5 etc..but have yet to see that. They have either stayed in the same spot or have dropped some. I am not sure why. I just continued to wait a little longer as I know these things can take time but I thought after 5 months, they should have climbed some. That is why I have stayed with the service not because I saw great results.

If you read my email, I said that I am not saying it is SEOLinkVine that has caused this with the sites that have vanished. On the one site that dropped in rankings it was on the first page of Google many years prior to using SEOLinkVine. In fact it was in the number 3 position to number 5 spot for about 4 years so SEOLinkVine had nothing to do with its great rankings. I thought SEOLinkVine might help to get it to the top position which is why I marketed it through SEOLinkVine.

So, maybe it was the Google change that recently happened that caused it to drop. However, I was wondering if it could have anything to do with the type of blogs and sites that SEOLinkVine submits to. I have tracked the submissions of my articles using Google alerts and across the board, they have all ended up on auto blogs with no PR. Could it be that Google looks at these sites as some type of spam sites? I am just wondering and not saying this is the case. I really just want to get to the bottom of this.

In conclusion, I am listening to what you say because I highly respect you and thank you for taking the time to look into this. I will continue to use SEOLinkVine and truly hope that it has not caused this.

It probably has a thing to do with the massive drop in rankings last week for a lot of other people.

I have no doubt that your problem happended for use SEO Linkvine. To my relief this happened before I enter to this network. I am compiting with a site that has some backlinks in posts as SEOLinkvine posts, now his site went from position 3 to 24 and my site went from 9 to 2.

One of my websites is the authority site in its niche. It has been on page 1 in the number 1 to 2 spot of Google for around 7 years. It was usually in the number 1 spot. Then, about 2 weeks after using SEOLinkVine, the site dropped in rankings for one of the most important keywords. This is a fact. I suppose people will say it could have been something else but this site is by far the top ranking site and dwarfs all competitors. Why would it drop after using this? Something is not right here?

I think it may have something to do with the quailty of the blogs in the SEOLinkVine Network. I have heard this happens to people in other networks as well like UAW so maybe this is just not the best way to get backlinks since most of the blogs are no PR junk.

Now, maybe if the networks were any good this might work but it seems they are just useless auto blogs where the blog owners never pay any attention to their sites so eventually the links disappear anyway.

I have had much better success with Ezinearticles.

I contacted support on but received a response that was not very helpful.

I am brand new to seo linkvine and have only published 2 articles so far. the second one went out fine being published 4 times in the first 24 hours.
the first one however still says acceptance rate N/A and shows no publishes.

support told me that my article rewrite percentage was too low but the lowest of the 2 articles had a rewrite percentage of 82.

    any thoughts here?

Well, my company owns 30 websites, some very large membership sites, and several sites are in HIGHLY COMPETITIVE niches and we have ranked in the number 1 spot for years so yes, I do consider myself some what of an expert. I also do recognize the Google dance but when this happened it was at the same time I had been using SEOLinkVine so I was really just trying to find out if there was any correlation.

Remember, I did not say it was SEOLinkVine that did this. In fact, I am still using SEOLinkVine along with LinkVana which I love.

IMO 5-6 months is not a good period for getting results from SEOLinkVine or other similar networks. Also if your backlinks improved a lot, it can be Google dance and building more quality backlinks can fix this problem. Wait some more months and i think your ranking will be better than previous months.

    UPDATE:

My site I had originally mentioned that had dropped in rankings eventually came back up to page 1 on Google. That was last month. However, for some unknown reason it dropped back again from page 1 to rank 400+. Makes no sense really. I don't think it has anything to do with SEOLinkVine. It has me baffled although it may be that each time a build links it drops off and then comes back eventually. This never used to happen with this site but now it happens alot. Not sure what is going on with this one.

I found this post google, although this is happened in 2010. My site has been faced in the same problem before in this year 2011.
After I study and found, there are several factors to cause the ranking drop. The most important thing is Page Authority ( check SEOmaz for this ). Page rank is not the main factors to decide the back links quality.
Your keyword ranking drop, I do believe that's the page authority drop, means Google don't think your webpage has enough quality contents, or google found you did a lot of manual non-authority backlinks to your target webpage.
To resolve this problem, the target URL must have enough internal links, and all the internal links must high quality articles.
PS: If your keywords all in the main index page of your website, never ever try to submit a lot of backlinks to your index page. Using the internal page to improve the main index page ranking and do a lot of backlinks to your subpages. Because google thinks the index page link a lot of high quality internal pages and no meaning. Too many back links to the index page will directly cause the ranking drop.
