Choosing Best Domain Name

Hi,

I'm doing some keyword research and, of course, most of the root keywords are taken but I found adding a suffix or prefix allowed me to get those keywords. However, I'm just wondering what are the "best" suffixes or prefixes to add to the root keyword. For instance, if I was choosing "puppytraining" as the main keyword then adding a suffix like "info" sometimes will allow me to get the domain name. "puppytraininginfo.com" is taken but it's just an example.

What about using something like [mainkeyword]+1 as in the number 1 to the end? Do you think Google will not condone this?

Your thoughts?

why don't you shuffle the words with the main keyword in it? and still looks as a dominating domain name?

don't use numbers, my two cents, its better to use typo, ex: puppytraning or puppytraininf

How about putting your secondary keyword phrase in the url if available and if it makes sense e.g. puppytrainingtips. Then you're sweeping up both.

ok, but remember that was just an example off the top of my head. It would be a good idea to check keyword volume and competition etc

It's a good idea sometimes to get a an closeout domain from an auction from sites such as godaddy etc. It's sometimes possible to find domains there with the relevant keywords within them.

Having the exact keyword match is supposed to be about 50% of the battle. So adding info to it is going to hurt it.
