Looking for Backlink Advice

Hi all,

I'm still relatively new to Internet Marketing and so far have had a few sites that have worked out and have had a few sites not work out. I've been trying to keep the costs low starting out so i've mainly focused on good on-page SEO, and obtaining backlinks through blog commenting, link exchange (with other blog owners), and writing articles.

Lately i've been getting a bit frustrated as I can see that the links my competition uses come from all sorts of random areas like chinese forums, blog posts that have nothing to do with the niche or the content of the post, and other areas.

As I mentioned I wanted to keep costs low, but feel I may need to start paying for or buying some backlink services, but i'm not sure where to go.

I've looked at tools like Unique Article Wizard, but i'd rather go a bit cheaper than that for now. I'd like to have a few more income earners before making the monthly investment of UAW.

I was just wondering what others were using. Are you outsourcing your links, are you purchasing packages from people, or are there other cheaper tools out there that I do not know about.

Any help is greatly appreciated .

Thanks!

There are many free options when it comes to link building.

First if you have a blog submit it to as many Topblog sites like Blogtopsites, blogtoplist, topblogging and whatever else you can find (free).

Next use a service like onlywire to submit your pages to lists of social bookmarking sites. (free)

The next thing that is a must also is creating pages that link back to your site on hubpages and squidoo. (free)

The next I would do is a search on Google for my keyword/phrase with forum on the search and start joining those forums, edit your signature so there is a link back to your website. This usually brings in very targeted traffic also. (free)

Some people don't use directory sites anymore but I still do. Find directory's with a good PR and alexa ranking and submit your site. (free) This won't bring much traffic but it will give you a bit more link juice.

Now another must is writing a few articles and submitting them to top article websites like ezine, articlebase, sipsly etc..This is by far the best method for building links. If your not very good at writing articles then you can hire a freelancer on places like scriptlance . (3 articles will cost you 15 dollars)

There are other paid options you can take that will bring in thousands of back links over night like xrummer or senuke but these are very costly. You can hire a service for each for a one time submition, just google something like xrummer service or submittion.

Ofcourse these aren't the only paid options out there for backlinks but for now I would start with the free options and see where that gets you. In many cases if you work hard enough with the free options that is all you'll need.

    hope that helps a bit

There are lots of options for you to choose from.

Aside from blog comments, link exchanges (This is not advisable in my opinion), and article writing, there are other means to generate backlinks. One of these is to create blogs from web 2.0 sites like Wordpress, Blogger, Squidoo, Hubpages and etc. You can also submit your links to several bookmarking sites available online. Also, submit press releases. This can help you generate backlinks as well getting some generous amount of traffic as well.

If you're too lazy enough or if your budget allows it, outsource your work by hiring competent freelancers online. One of the place to outsource is Regal Web. You can have their link here: Web Site Development | Best Website Hosting

Also remember link variety is important. Links should come from different IP addresses, including:

    Article marketing
    Blog posting
Profile links (not signature) let "age" a bit before placing links
    Web 2.0 sites
    edu sites, edu blogs
    Stick with PR4 and above

    MOST IMPORTANT
Consistency - Each and Every Month

Spy on your competitors that are ranking well by Reverse Engineering their site to see where their links are coming from and do just a bit better. Happy Linking....

Do write comments in forums and blogs. I heard that about 10 in each a day maximum should be about right. Doing a little each day is recommended, so the links build up gradually.

One another advice. Only "follow" links are useful for PR increasing. Try to get only such backlinks. On site Do Follow Blog List | DoFollow Blogs you can find a lot of blogs that allow "follow" links.
You also should every time control your backlinks. I use for this purpose free backlinks analyzer: Increase Your Website Page Rank With Online Backlink Analyzer - SEO Software Tool for Your Website's Backlinks Checking and Analyzing
    Good luck.

Thanks for the advice everyone. The only problem is that i've done many of these methods before without much luck. I've written articles on wordpress, blogger, squidoo, etc all pointed back to my site. It just seems i'm losing the battle on the quantity of links.

Maybe you just losing the battle on targeting the right keywords. Target long tail "buyer type: product name, review, etc." keywords with low competition. Don`t try to backlink all your websites, or all your pages..first only concentrate on targeting only 1 keyword (page) with all your SEO knowledge, with all your backlinks. When you start to make profit, reinvest and move on...

    - Submit press releases to the top 25 free PR directories.

    - Use Isnare, it`s cheap and good.

    - You can sign up for UAW for only 1 month first..just to blast out a handful of articles.

    - Convert your articles to PDF, and submit them to document share websites.

    - Learn how to do software submission SEO with PAD file.

    - Create 1 basic slideshow style video and submit to 20-30 videoshare websites, try TubeMogul for Online Video Distribution.

    - Try one of the packages from here: backlinksphilippines.com it`s really good.

    - Learn how to use Ping.Fm, build backlinks through StatusNet/Laconica websites, but never use url shorteners (no seo value).

    - Buy Article Post Robot and TheBestSpinner.

Relevance does not matter - thats why your competitors rank higher than you do - they just backlink where ever they can without limits. If you want to enter the big game then I suggest you to invest in software - the best in my opinion is scrapebox(as you are already doing blog commenting) You can do your commenting much faster and efficiently - sb discount is one-time fee of $57. You should think about software if you want to rank higher faster.

    just my 2 cents

There are many ways to create backlinks. Some are easy and some are not. Some other ways of building backlinks are web 2.0 sites, high pr profiles, press release, blog commenting, etc. All these can take time if you want to do them manually. To do them yourself, you need to get a software to make your work easier. That is the cheapest option for you if you are not able to spend much money. If you outsource, you should be ready to spend hundreds of dollars or even thousands depending on your case.
