Google is not respecting author rights

When you said without any changes, does the article on the other website have your links and attribution in it still? If so, they might have published it using ezinearticles.
If not, you could email the website owner. Although the most productive thing to do is work on more content for your own sites and targets.

Keep adding more quality content and backlinks and you will see results.

When you place an article on EzineArticles.com you are inviting them to use it on their sites as long as they publish your resource box. The best way to do it is to use it to link back to a similar more complete article on your site. Every article published from EzineArticles will then point back to your better article on your site.

Consider this your learning experience oh and read tos on every site you submit your articles to. Next time go with different title. Don't target your keywords

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this actually. It has nothing to do with "author rights". When you publish an article on ezinearticles.com, you give other webmasters the right to republish your article on their own site as long as they do not remove your links from the EZA article back to your site. They have to include the entire article AND the author biography when the republish it.

And if your article on YOUR site ONLY has links from EZA and one republisher of your article (for example) and if that republisher has a more authoritative site or has built additional links to THEIR copy of YOUR article, then it makes total sense that Google would rank them higher. Remember inbound links are considered "votes" from other webmasters. If the site who republishes your article does a better job of building links, they are going to rank higher than your copy generally speaking.

FYI... You appear to be doing it all wrong anyway. NEVER post an article from your site on EZA. I would suggest you alter you article submission procedures to the following:

1) Write a GREAT post or article for your blog or web site. Target the keyword phrase you want to rank for. (My posts are long and detailed... typically 1500-2500 words).
2) Publish that post or article on your blog or web site.
3) Write a brand new article to submit to EZA about the exact same topic from scratch. Don't even look at the first post/article when you write the EZA article. Make it interesting, but more high level than the post/article from your own blog/site. (Mine EZA articles are typically 500-1000 words) It can have the same basic outline, but don't optimize this article so much. Maybe have a much wordier title for the EZA post (i.e. reduce the keyword density for your targeted keyword phrase(s) in the title of the EZA article). Use more synonyms rather than repeating your targeted keywords/keyword phrase(s) in the EZA article. blah blah
4) Include a link to the original post/article on your blog/site in the author bio section of the EZA article with its targeted keyword phrase as the link text. I would also include a link to your home page or some other related post/article on your site in the author bio. NOTE: You can have 2 links in the body, 2 in the author bio... 2 of those links can be to your site, 2 to sites you don't own. Place the links to YOUR site in the author bio because those links are FOLLOW links. Link to 2 other sites (if you want) from the body of the EZA becase those links in the body are NOFOLLOW.
5) Publish the shorter, less detailed, less optimized (but still interesting and informative) article on EZA

Now your post or article on your OWN blog or web site is well optimized AND totally original. It doesn't exist anywhere on the web except your site. The shorter, less detailed article that you submitted to EZA may get duplicated on other sites if it gets republished, but who cares. The article is duplicated between EZA and those republishing sites. The article/post on your site remains original.


Then if ANYONE copies your article from your site and republishes it, all you have to do is submit a DMCA request with their web hosting company who will take down the copyright violators version of your article. Also, if someone republishes your EZA article and does not leave the links to your site in the republished version, you can submit a DMCA request to their web hosting company who will take down the offending material. I have done this MANY times and the offending material has always been taken down withing 8-24 hrs of submitting the DMCA.

is there a link reference going back to your site for this article? or is it removed? if its removed you can put in a ceast and desist order, doubt it will do any good though and you might get into a fight about it, since you placed it on eza, youre freely giving that up for anyone to use, ok, eza requirement / guideline is you keep that info in tact, but, its not up to eza to chase up after that person cos they never followed eza terms of service, etc.

It was posted without any links to my site or any recognition whatsoever, it was copied verbatim, I understand he needs to add my resource box from ezinearticles which he didn't. It sure is a learning experience, which I won't repeat again. On the positive side it means it was good article =). Thank you all for the advise, any more insight will be welcome.

I thought that was the point? I write articles for Ezine hoping they will be syndicated to other websites.
