There are two services that I use Linkvana and Buildmyrank for posting contextual one way backlinks in their blog networks. Linkvana one of the oldest and most repected in this regard but it isn't cheap at $147/mo. (Buildmyrank is about $59/mo)

Along with press releases and social bookmarking I have gotten 1st page rankings in very competitive niches.

What I haven't done, and plan to very shortly, is use RSS feeds which many people have stated can be very powerful.

That way, I'll be sure my website grows naturally, instead of using automated software to get 1,000 links a day. Google aint that friendly. Hard work it is.
