Hi warriors,

I am new here. Just finished doing my first IM blog. Need your advise or input on this. I cant seem to find my blog if i search it using my keyword in Google. However i am able to find my website if i search it using the full address. The weird thing is. if i use the online Google SERP checker, i can see my blog is in rank 19 in Google.

Am i doing something wrong here?, or this is just normal?.

that is seems to be normal, what you can do is to build more links to your site since this is new and then make a quality content, put a good on page so that you will find an easy off page optimization later on.

Your site looks good, but without backlinks Google thinks no one cares, so Google doesn't care. Link love=Google love

Anthony is right on, Backlinks hold all the weight when it comes to pulling up in the serps. The best way to get links is from off-shore workers on ODesk or Freelance. I prefer ODesk personally but thats just me. We manage over 130 Employees on Odesk and we get great results with our workers. We got our main website ranked the day our URL was indexed. We get pulled up on over 35+ Keywords now with just two weeks worth of backlinking. Here are a few tips to help you when working with overseas workers and building links.

        1. Link Diversity - Make sure you have youre team create links on social bookmarking sites, Relevant sites with good PR Value, Articles on Article submission directories, Blog and Forum commenting and Lots of Sig Links.
        2. Anchor Text - Make sure youre links contain anchor text with the keywords you are wanting to get ranked on. This will help google index youre website on multiple keyword strings from the types of links you create.
        3. Keyword Variation - When creating anchor text, vary the keywords you use with filler text and plural variations. This will help you get ranked on a wider variety of keywords. Misspellings can also be beneficial and get you lots of great traffic.
        4. Manage your team closely - ODesk is great but you need to be very clear about what you want in youre links and the types of link and diversity you are looking for.
        5. Keyword Research - Make sure you do a lot of keyword research before you have a team of people work on youre project. The great thing about working with an offshore team is that you can get someone to work for .99 cents per hour and get great results.
Hope these tips help you get started. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

  • Which SERP checker did you use? I've found that some of them are more reliable than others and as the last guy said you've gotta get more links. You can do that through a number of ways but the best way is to have lots of good content on your site.

OP, you have basically a 2 part formula. Niche research AND backlinks. Either one done badly will yield poor results. That's just a fact. Proper niche selection is both an art and a science. If you want to build up some confidence (and results), then target an extremely low competition phrase so that your blog "gets the foot in the door" so to speak. Once you rank on the first page for that really low comp. phrase, then you will go a long way towards earning rank on the rest of your keywords. Good luck.

Try this. Go into your settings in your gmail account. Go to Webmaster Tools. Ad your site, and then verify it. This might help, but don't have enough info to really know your full situation.

If it's the blog in your signature, I don't imagine it would take much to rank considering "eat to loose weight" isn't searched. "Loose weight" is only searched 590 global monthly, according to the Google keyword tool.

I don't think that many people search for the misspellings, in this case. Even if you get it to rank, there still won't be really any traffic going after those keywords so you may find this to be a lesson in futility.

But that's not a misspelling, is it? Isn't the UK version with the 's' instead of the 'z'?

But I realize that misspellings can be highly searched - just not in this case according to the Google keyword tool. It's not going to do him any good at all if it's NOT getting searched.
