The New Adsense Interface

Anyone tried it yet? It's a bit slow but has (for me) the long awaited graph views!

Playing around with it and noticed something quite interesting. I don't know if it's a glitch but across all my channels / sites (in the same niche) - while the average page impressions remain avarage, the CTR, CPC and eCPm all rise and dip together.

That doesn't surprise me so much for the CPC but I find this a bit weird for CTR to behave the same across multiple sites. Shame it's so slow, you can get some valuable insight form the graphical representation. If you haven't already, go have a play with it.

  • I've been checking it out a little bit lately. A few parts I still need to figure out but the page impression are looking more realistic compared to my daily visitor count between my websites. With the old interface my impressions seemed really low but with the new interface it's showing 2-3x more impressions. But if I flip back to the old interface, they're really low again. Overall I like the new interface, albeit it is a little slow.
  • As long as the money is still rolling in, they can do whatever they want with the Interface. It does look more professional, but I don't like how there is no quick drop down to view my active domains. Is there a way to do this, I haven't looked at it in detail yet.

    • I like it.
Clean, professional, straight forward, does everything I would want it to.
I also noticed a change in page impressions though.
Google is so weird like that.
Stuff like that happens with the adwords keyword tool too.
  • The Coverage thing is interesting...I guess if you have less than 100% then you've got more ad units than they have ads for.
  • One thing I really dislike is that it is setup for widescreen viewing. Am I the only one still using a CRT from 1997?
  • Still waiting to have it enabled in my account
  • Nah, no good. Might be US customers only at the moment.

    • I'm in the UK and it only showed up yesterday, no doubt you'll get it soon, still in beta.

The graphic / timeline is a long overdue change, you can get a much better sense of what's going on without having to dump it all into spreadsheets etc. There's a new metric added called coverage which basically tells you if and when your ads are showing up relevant or PSA's.

Other than that and the graphical / timeline view I can't see much else different at the moment, other than it's painfully slow, so if you have a lot of channels to compare then you're gonna be on it all day.
  • It's cool at least for me better than the previous interface. But what matter most is getting the clicks so that they may be a check to collect.

    • In that case, use the tool to make your cheques even bigger. Kinda the point of stats!
  • Me either. The quick view of the top performing channels was the main thing I used.

When I wanted to see the graph of earnings, I would just look at it in my Analytics account. That gives you the top performing pages anyway.

And I really, REALLY, hate that when you do view the custom channels, they are paginated now. I liked the big long list.
  • Overall I like it and looks very professional, easier to navigate imho....

However a few problems for me .......

Made this post about some weirdness I see going on with my sites in the new interface...

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...nse-sites.html

    What I noticed:-

all my sites with adsense are not active

doesn't matter if there are channels or not

only sites with pub-0000000 ids which I created with the complete code from Google are showing up....
  • I think the adsense interface is awesome. I was afraid for change but it freakin rocks!
  • Just got the new interface showing on my account today and I like the look but haven't yet figured out how to show the top performing channels for the day as that was the main thing I looked at on the old one.

    • Let me know if you figure that out because I'm trying to.
    • Performance reports / custom channels in top left menu / then click on column header for what you want ordered, CPC or CTR etc.
  • I am still finding my way around it- whats the quickest way to show it it sites by site? so I can see exactly where the income came from
  • It has kicked in on my account now.

It's a shame that's not on the main dashboard like the old interface.

It was a quick way to make sure everything was working a-ok across a lot of domains...

    The historic graphic is great
