Will a site get banned from AdSense if that site is getting traffic from other sources, rather than just Goggle organic search?

I'm assuming your talking about referral traffic from other sites. No - your account should be ok.

Nope. Just do your best to get traffic that is going to bring good conversion rates to the advertisers. Doesn't matter where your traffic is coming from as long as it's quality traffic.

What's important is that the traffic is quality traffic that converts for advertisers. This means that things like traffic exchanges and such can cause you problems but quality social referral traffic is OK.

It does matter where you get traffic from. Buying traffic that uses popups will get you banned.

google likes traffic, they won't ban you unless it is coming from sites that have adult etc content on. That's the only thing you have to be careful about.

Sorry, what is "social referral traffic"? Is this stuff like digg or FaceBook?

Would a traffic from parked domains be a good or bad thing in the eyes of Google?

Yea, digg and facebook are other sources of social traffic.
Traffic from parked domains would be fine in terms of traffic.

But as bgmacaw said, its all about conversions. If your ads get clicked alot by traffic that doesn't end up converting for the advertiser your chances of being "smart priced" go up. At the end of the day that means less cash you!

Traffic from parked domains could convert well, but it depends on the nature of the niche.

If you're cyber squatting it could get you into trouble.

How do you get traffic from parked domains? I think you mean traffic to you're parked domains? Made for AdSense will get you grief. Google has a service just for parked domains.

I am just trying to learn. I often stumble on those parked domains, and I see lots of ads on them. And I've noticed that there are companies that are just own 100s of those parked domains.

Recently I realized that some of them are using PPV to bring traffic onto these parked domains. So I just want to work out weather bringing PPV traffic onto parked domain will bring you in a trouble with Big G.

        From wikepedia:

Cybersquatting (also known as domain squatting), according to the United States federal law known as the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, is registering, trafficking in, or using a domain name with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else. The cybersquatter then offers to sell the domain to the person or company who owns a trademark contained within the name at an inflated price

As long as you don't click on your own ad, where the traffic comes doesn't matter. However, they may ban you if the click through rate is too high.

I toyed with AdSense on one site that I have and CTR was 2 to 3%. Was 2-3% a top limit for CTR to stay bellow the radar?

I heard that even CTR of 20% is OK, but I am not sure.

  • Google dosen't bothers about anything like traffic source , ctr .. until you don't get a high percentage of invalid clicks.

I have heard of CTR's beyond 20% and they never put down the ban hammer, its all about the clicks being legitimate customers looking to buy when they click and not you on another pc or some click bombing bot. it won't matter if they come from youtube, digg, or bing, as long as they click and some buy.
And sure when they see high CTR's they might start to look at an account but if your not breaking rules then you shouldn't have a problem

Not at all. Its not one of the conditions of Google. Your website can get traffic from any resources on the net, but the most thing which makes your website eligible for getting banned is fraud clicks. Google is so sensitive about it but having traffic from other websites has no problem.

Where your traffic comes from matters to you but not to google. Google does not care where you get visitors, it is only concerned about click fraud and that is the most important thing.

Invalid clicks is the most frown at sin of adsense, traffic source and ctr may not be an issue as long as you are having valid clicks.

So you all say that AdSense conversions are tracked by Google. How's that technically possible. I am a bit familiar with AdWords. When you pay for your AdWords, Google is not asking me weather ad converted or not?

Or, just thinking loud, it actually does. There are those goal funnels in Analytics from which Big G. can see weather ad click converted or not.

    Hmmm, that is a thought.

As long as clicks are valid, Google does not really care about the traffic. But I also had heard, that organic traffic is liked by Google compared to referred traffic.

Your two statements contradict each other. Google does care quite a bit how
you send traffic to an adsense site. They do not like traffic exchanges,
(many) email links, clicks for rewards, auto-generated, etc. There is a whole
host of ways to get around this. Yes, organic search is but one of many.

If you put adsense on a truly parked domain, google must approve it and
      take it over.
