Is Mail signature important?

Hey All,

I use gmail as my mailing agent, and send normally 50 mails per day. I want to know if I add signature in it targeting my website, will it also be helpful in seo point of view. I hope my friends have understood my question

      I would think so. Google see's these things... that's how they determine what Ads to display in Gmail.

      If the almighty G sees it, then it has got to be worth it

    If Google consider it than it is good to do this. Every thing that led to promotion of the website is good from SEO point of view.

        Adding a signature to your emails takes a few seconds, it makes you look like more professional, it may raise the curiosity of some people and generate some traffic to your site (but surely not a lot)... So, yes, definitely go for it and add a sig to your emails.

        In terms of SEO, adding a sig file to your mails (even if it's gmail) won't add any additional benefit.

    Maybe inserting signature to your emails can drive some traffic for your website but if you think doing it can help your website to make more backlinks for it, its not true. As search engines don't crawl emails as they are private and the content of emails will not be indexed.

      Exactly. Google doesn't crawl every email that you send out. (How creepy would it be if they did?!?) By putting a signature in your emails, it may encourage people to visit your site, follow you on Twitter, etc., but it's not going to help your SEO.

    I am not sure yet that google really crawl it or not but in simple manner the user who is going to receive you mail may like watch your site so from the SEM point of view it be really good as a link is going with each mail.

    It may help in terms of SEO, but it's not because of the reason that the signature links are seen as backlinks as the links will mostly not be followed.

    However, when your mail signature links can reach out to many people, your website traffic increases. Traffic which equates to popularity is one of the hundreds of factors seen by search engines to determine your rankings.
