This method isn't anything revolutionary, but it might be new to some people.

How to Find Do Follow Blogs with Scrapebox

What a lot of people overlook is that Scrapebox's check links function does more than just check if your links were posted to a set of blogs. It actually searches the html code for a string that you input.

Scrapebox has an addon that checks blogs for do follow. But this has its limitations, chief among them being that it is only for Wordpress blogs. The method I'm about to present has its limitations too, but it can be used on any blog platform.

Method 1
Harvest your list of keyword related blogs. Be sure the check links radio button is checked and transfer your harvested blogs to the blog list just as if you were going to use the check links function. Next, we edit the websites file. This is where we tell scrapebox what string to search the html code for. Enter
Code:
rel="nofollow"
rel='nofollow'
This will now check your blog list for the strings rel="nofollow" and rel='nofollow'. The blogs you want to keep are those for which scrapebox does not find a match.

This of course is not full proof. A webpage could have nofollow tags on links that aren't in comments. Or, a blog could be nofollow, but not have any comments yet.

Method 2
This is similar to the previous method. Harvest your list of keyword related blogs. Now use Scrapebox's comment poster to post comments on these blogs. Use a random domain. Don't use the domain you really want comments for. Now we're going to check links. This time, the strings we're going to look for are:
Code:
"url you used to post comments" rel="nofollow"
rel="nofollow" href="url you used to post comments"
and variations where you replace " with '
This method also has its drawbacks, but you can find some good do follow blogs with these two methods.

Why wouldn't you just use the NoFollow/DoFollow Check addon?

As I said in the post, it has its limitations. The main one being that it can only be used for Wordpress.

The only problem I see is what if the comments are do follow, but it has a no follow attribute for say a registration page. Good method though number 2 is very creative.

Scrapebox also works well in finding all the blogs that your competition has commented on. I then take those links and run a PR check and save all the good sites that have pagerank. There will of course be a mixture of no-follow and do-follow. I like ALL links! But would rather of course have do-follow...especially for the high pagerank sites!

no follow links have some power, most of WP comments links are nf but when you make SB blast serps are going up in 90%.

there is a plugin for SB to find do follow links.

I'm relatively new to IM, but I've been reading good things about Scrapebox. Is it worth the investment? Is it hard to use and get familiar with, and, if so, does it come with any tutorials or videos?

    Has anybody heard of Scrapegoo?

    Cheers

There's a new dofollow add-on that can help sort out DF / NF links on auto approve blogs.

For manual approval blogs, I'd still suggest doing it manually with a browser plug in. I know it sucks, but it's the best way.

    1. Harvest just Wordpress blogs.

    2. Run them through the Wordpress dofollow / nofollow checker inside of SB.

    3. Save the posts reported as dofollow.

    4. Run a DOMAIN PR check on them.

    5. Get rid of the PR2 or lower blogs. This will save you a lot of time if you're looking for blogs that have posts with PR.

    6. Export the PR3+, reported dofollow, blogs as HTML.

    7. MANUALLY check them with a browser plugin. (Since the SB add-on is really only about 80% accurate.)

    8. Add the nofollow posts to a txt file.

    9. Run the "import / compare on domain" level action with your original blog list open inside of SB. Choose your newly created txt file with blogs that you've verified to be nofollow. This removes them from your list, leaving you with just dofollow blogs.

Time consuming? Yup. But it's the only method that is 100% accurate.

The "DoFollow Test" add-on will check your links and tell you if they're dofollow or nofollow. Good for auto approve blogs.

The other add-on, "DoFollow/NoFollow Checker" is only for Wordpress blogs and is about 80% accurate. Not bad, but not 100%.

For harvesting, mass PR checks, etc, yes. But that's not a problem. Just find a good source of proxies that's updated frequently and you'll never run out. There's plenty of sites floating around that release multiple free proxy lists throughout the day.

For most everything else I use 10 semi-dedicated proxies. Fast poster, checking links, checking dofollow status, analyzing blogs, checking the # of outbound links on blog posts, etc.

A dofollow blog means it allows search engine spiders to crawl and follow the link. If you comment on a dofollow blog a backlink will be created, thus the search engine spiders will crawl your link back to your site. Thus it will give some SEO benefits for your site.
