Where is my backlinks?

I have now for a longer time submitted about 1000 articles. That should give me about 1000 backlinks. But when I am checking my backlinks non of them is showing.
Does it mean that google don't count them as backlinks?
Or still does it affect my site popularity even if no backlinks are indexed in a backlink checker site?

*Submitting* articles doesn't mean any of them got approved.

Also, once they're approved, there's no guarantee that Google knows that they exist.

You need to get your links indexed in order for them to count, otherwise, it doesn't matter that they're there.

Lastly, google backlink checker is very unreliable. Yahoo's site explorer is much better.

With that said, it takes a LONG time for your links to show up in YSE.

Basically, you'll have to build links to your links.

Like - if you got an Ezine article, then write another article in Goarticles and link to the Ezine article from there.

Some articles submission directories have 'dofollow' and others have ' nofollow' attributes. Only the ones that have 'dofollow' attribute can be spidered by Googlebot and hence your pages can be indexed. Confirm that you have been submitting articles to directories that have the 'dofollow' attribute.

Its not true. Both dofollow and nofollow backlinks will be crawled and counted by search engines. I guess most of his submitted articles didn't approved and its the reason of not showing these backlinks for him on Google.

Nofollow links carry a lot less value and are not officially counted, even though Google does crawl them.

Check the page source, searching for the 'nofollow' or 'external' attribute after the link in question. If there's no such attribute, it's a dofollow link.

You can save yourself a lot of hassle by using the Firefox extension Nodofollow.

-Are your articles are unique? If you submit the same article to the 1000's directories you can not expect much.

-You will see the improvement in ranking of your website even the links are not shown in the backlink checkers. I usually dont rely these rank checkers. I always move forward with the results i get.

-Try to get quality links than bunch of low quality links from spammy websites.

    1st "Where are my backlinks"

2nd 1000 articles are too much for any niche(overkill)

3rd You need to diversify and mix different link building tactics.

It sometimes takes a long time for links to show up. I've had about a 20% success rate of links being accepted for articles.

Backlinks from external sites to yours will not be affected by you resubmitting the sitemap. If you change the name of pages and do not set up redirects then they will be affected.
