How many keywords for All-in-one SEO plug-in??

Ok,

I have 3 wordpress sites that promote amazon products.

I currently have about 20 keywords per each site (in the all-in-one plug-in) and each of those keywords are getting around 50 to 1000 hits a day.

So... is this to many keywords per site? What is the optimum number to target?

    For your home page i suggest you to go for 3-4 main keywords, try optimizing your other pages as well (blog posts).. it will reflect (in a positive way) on your main keywords.

    I there is no magic number to be target regarding with your keyword but then the relatedness between each keyword must be emphasized here

    Usually webmasters concentrate on optimizing their websites for fewer number of keywords and then try to optimize all pages and parts of their websites. But if you are ranking good for 20 keywords, its good and i think you can stop optimizing for other keywords and optimize the other pages of your website instead of finding new keywords.

    According to me per page selecting 3 to 4 keywords is a good idea. So finally it depends on the number of pages you are having to your site. Still if you are going well with 20 keywords then that's a better thing for you, you can continue with that.
