  • places like eBay and Amazon have services that show you exactly that, what is hot right now. Sorry, I forgot the names, but just search around.

    Another one is Google Trends.

    • the best way to find a niche is to look at what people are already buying ie if there is a magazine on it look at the ads for things in those mags either online or at your newsagent, look at amazon, ebay pulse, 43 things, buzz, trends and look around your house .....everything in it has probably made some people money. Make sure you also look at all the junk mail you get in your mail box as well and brainstorm from there.
  • Leanne is right, it is called ... eBay Pulse.

On Amazon, go to page for any product and find "Amazon Bestsellers Rank:" You'll see a link next to it, going something like "Top 100 products in electronics" etc. There are lots of links like that on Amazon and they give excellent guidance.

    • For physical products definitely go for amazon. You can see the hot products here which is updated hourly and the most wished for here which is updated daily. If you put "*" in the search box on the homepage you'll get a list of categories and number of products.
As Leanne said, magazines are a good test, if there's a magazine for it then you can assume (after doing your due diligence) that there are a number of products related to that niche and that the people are buyers.
For information products look at whats already selling on clickbank or whatever. I guess the main point is if there are buyers then check out the niche more. Depending on your traffic strategy you might also want to look at whether the niche is content friendly i.e. can you produce enough content on the subject either on the niche itself or on subjects closely related to the niche.
The number 1 rule is that people are already buying. Adwords CPC will give you a quick measure of this, but check out what they're selling. Also, forget about finding an untapped niche without any competition and lots of hungry buyers. At least for now.
  • If you want a software which gives you ideas, I suggest Market Samurai and Google adwords keyword tool. These tools can help you to find keywords based on your primitive idea.
  • This isn't really tool oriented advice, but I'll toss it out there anyway.

It helps to have some understanding of the market your getting into. Otherwise, how will you know how to sell to them? Look for things that you have purchased in the past, then figure out how you can sell the stuff that you've used and are happy with. I've used this strategy in the past and it's worked fairly well.

Also, if you're still selecting a niche try to identify something in the areas of: Health, Love or Wealth. This type of stuff always has buyers.
  • A great way to find good niches is just to do a google search of the top 500 search terms and sort through what people are searching for, and what you can promote.
  • Thanks for all the great ideas, definitely helpful.

For product promotion, will check ebay, amazon, clickbank ,mags, ...

What about adsense? Im not talking about KEY WORDS, before i target the keywords, i have to find a niche? How you get the primitive niche idea?
  • Market SAMURAI and google adwords keyword tool can go a long way.
  • hi,
    adwords keyword is very good
