Renting your Google #1 spot

Hello,

I'm planning on actually renting out a top listing I have to a local business. Don't really want to change the content or structure of the site.

If I do a "temporary redirect" on my site to the business owner's website, could that destroy my SEO results?

Obviously a 301 redirect is more permanent, right? Is their a way to reverse a 301 redirect?

thanks,

Ron

If you have the know-how to do a 302 redirect, then you have the
      know-how to do a 301 redirect.

If you have the know-how to 301 it, why don't you have the know-how to
      change it back?

There is no difference if you change it back shortly. A 302 just seems
like it is temporary, while a 302 signals permanent. But only as long
as it's done. Normally, over time, the 301 will wipe out the first one.
I would never do a 302 redirect, BTW.

But what you are doing is a bad idea. May fly under google's radar, but
it sure is bad for visitors. And anything bad for your visitors is bad for SEO
in the long run. It does break the TOS of google if it is indeed a local/map
listing. If it is a generic search, that changes things.
