On Page Vs Off Page SEO (Not The Usual)

Just wondering how things would work out in a straight up onpage vs offpage SEO.

Before everyone goes on to say its the offpage, the scenario I'm wondering about is this:

A website with full onpage SEO and no backlinks Vs A page with 100-200 backlinks WITH ANCHOR TEXT IRRELEVANT TO THE KEYWORD.

Example, a page SEOed for "my mum does not know about warrior forum" Vs a page SEOed for "warrior forum deals" with backlinks all anchored for "warrior forum deals" or similar stuff.

The offpage SEOed page is currently in the top 10 on Google. If a new page that's fully onpage SEOed pops up, will it rank higher?

Assuming most of the other factors such as PR and domain age are similar, which one wins the Google ranking war?

Lol. Did you read the OP, I think it's a question not information..

Anyway, that question is very relative. I mean it would depend on the competition you against and what they are doing.

I couldn't possibly answer this without testing myself.

In my opinion onpage SEO should not be "compared" to offpage SEO. They are like cheese and crackers... you never compare them, they just compliment eachother :p

Onpage just makes it easier to rank a page for a competitive term when you start offpage seo. If you have good onpage seo it is so much easier to win and you need far less backlinks.

Going off of what has been said so far, your goal should be to get as far as you can with some initial on-page SEO, and then implement a backlinking/off-page SEO strategy if necessary.

It would take time to rank higher...no guarantee...it would show up only after some backlinks are achieved unless the keyword is very less competitive.

Thanks for all the replies guys. But the question hasn't really been answered yet.

Both are important that's for sure. Especially offpage.

However, the question remains. Straight up against each other, which is gonna appear higher? All other factors being equal. Does anyone have a clue? I know its a really tough question to answer so feel free to state any assumptions in the painted scenario. Thanks.

I think on page and off page both has it's importance and both are useful to rank you in the google. It's always good to go for both at a time to get good and quick result. Without one, other process is available but it will take more time.

I think you are missing the point. This all depends on the keyword that you try to rank for. You can't comapre off page and on page SEO while you are targeting a different keywords for each site.

If both your sites are targeting the same keyword the one with off page SEO and anchored text backlinks (your keyword) would win the race.
