Is it important to use your keyword when pinging?

Just curious - does it matter whether or not we use our keyword as our "blog name" when pinging our backlinks with tools like PingOat.com and PingOMatic.com? I don't really see how it would benefit at all if I'm only pinging to get my backlinks found by the search engines. Thanks!

      I'm not sure, but I also have a few different pieces of software that ping backlinks and they each use keywords when pinging. I'm not sure why but I do wonder...

        Honestly, I don't know why they ask you for "Keywords" when pinging b/c I'm almost certain it isn't used for anything...

    I think its not important at all. Many websites and crawlers like Google doesn't need it at all. You can use any name you want and see the result. I think the results will be the same.

      Thanks, I think you both are right. It makes sense anyway, like why would a ping server need your keyword just come crawl your site? It's not like it results in a keyword-rich anchor text backlink. Well, thanks again, I just wanted to make sure I had some people on the same page as me!
