Adsense - Did You Know?

Just a few quickies here for those who don't know...

1 - AdSense for content publishers earn a 68% revenue.
That's right, you earn 68% of whatever the bid is on a given keyword.

Hint: If you are looking up CPC using the adwords keyword tool, take 68% of the listed CPC to get a "more accurate" idea of how much you'll make per click on your site.

2 - Google DOES NOT have plans to implement a 2 click system!
This is a rumor from 2007 that lives on today! Don't believe it!

The rumor:
In order to decrease click fraud and invalid, unintentional clicks, Google is creating a system that works by displaying a pop up whenever an ad is clicked. The popup will inform the visitor that they have clicked a PPC ad and ask them if they want to continue to visit the sponser website. Clicking “yes” means you get paid, clicking “No” means you don’t get paid.

3 - You Don't Need to E-mail Google When You Accidentally Click Your Own Ad!
Google has stated on their adsense blog that they do not want people emailing them to notify the company that they have clicked your own ad by accident. In many cases Google knows and automatically discounts any clicks you have made on your own site. However they also keep track of how frequently this happens, so don't try it!

Good stuff! Google -finally!- released that info in May. Interestingly, most thought it was between 40%-50%.

It's important to realize that in most cases when you see a CPC listed, you are seeing the "Position 1" cost, the amount charged for the best position. Each subsequent position & ad goes down, often dramatically.

A listed $1.50 CPC for a keyword can translate into a $.25 click for the last ad in an adblock.

  • Nice tips thanks for sharing.

And also Adsense never blocks or bans any account until they do something wrong.

You might have seen many reviews and talks online telling adsense blocked their account for nothing but that never happens.

Thanks a lot for your new tips about Google adsense.
I really didn't know about this system. I have not seen it yet. When this system will be started to work?
Also i didn't know about the revenue percentage ( 68% ) . Are you sure about it?

To be clear, that "system" is a rumor, its not true and it will never happen.
And yes I am sure about the 68%, that information came directly from google.

Google added the info a while back. Go to your adsense account, click on "my account" and scroll to the bottom and you'll see that info posted there.

68% revenue percentage is good. However, you cannot verify if what you actually got is 68%. I'm not saying don't believe on their disclosure of 68%, but more transparency is needed to make this percentage verifiable.
