First I'd have to ask how old is your blog?
Is it a niche you can dominate?
Can you target the most popular keywords & phrases successfully to get to the first 3 results on the first page of google for your main keywords & phrases?
How often do you blog and is it quality content around 450 words and above?
What plugins are you using?

The blog is about 5 months
my niche is about hollywood gossips
the blog is pretty much running now on autopilot, so it get updated very very often.
i am using platinum seo pack, auto tag plugins, and just other minor ones to make the site look nice.

for the keywords, i just add them to the seo plugin.

do i need to also add them to my header
as a meta tag or something like that too?

My big question would be why? If you are getting 200 visitors per day and making $5/week I would consider the niche an absolute waste of time. Increasing to 1000/day brings your profit to $25/week if you convert the same. There is no way to justify spending any money at all on a site that could make you $100/month in my opinion.

i just started, so that amount of money i am making is not bad for a new site.
i know tons of other bloggers out there are still struggling to make a dollar.

so what would you suggest i should do?
what niche should i think about tapping into?

I would have to agree..

Unless of course you are simply hitting the niche more or less as a hobby. In this case you can easily get your 1k a day goal by completing a couple simple steps..

1. Every couple days do some (not alot!) niche related blog comments linking them back to your site.
2. Create niche targeted articles linking a keyword to your site and submit them to high end article directory sites.
3. Do a G**gle search for niche related forums, signup with them introduce yourself and create some review posts.

I agree with Jayson. Have you done the best you can to optimize your adsense layout / placement, etc? It might be a better investment of your time to work on converting your traffic better.

I have not really optimize my adsense layout.
what is the best program that can help me with that?
I am using all in one adsene, because it places the adsense at random, but not sure what else to really do.

Well, its a popular niche and it sounds like you are doing everything right but unless you can compete with people like Buck Hollywood and Perez Hilton I just don't see it being a money maker. But! If you truly love the topic and if you love writing about it and you can cover the top stories as they happen and be one of the first sites to offer info on the top stories and the top celebs, you could bring in way more traffic than 1,000 hits per day. But if this is just an auto-blog Id stop wasting time on it because the days of making any money on niche Adsense sites are over. You have to work harder now more than ever.

Everyone is missing the obvious. Why not focus on producing great content where people want to come to your site and read about what's going on every day. Engage your readers, stir the pot, make them want to come back for more. Not that I have ever read a word of this guy, but do you think Perez Hilton or whatever got the traffic he did by successfully SEO'ing his site for "celebrity gossip"? I doubt it.

It sounds like you are in the right path. I am currently getting 1000 visitors per day on my website (my goal is 4000) after a year. It took a lot of hard work and backlinking. What is working for me is creating new original pages (content) and get backlinks to those new pages, also do KEYWORD research and monitor my chosen keywords to get them to page 1 on google.

I think your problem is not backlinks now.If you compete for an average keyword and most of your backlinks to be from quality websites, you can get more than 1,000 visitors with about 20,000 backlinks. If you did all things right, you can compete for good keywords and get good traffic monthly and even if you work only with Adsense, you can make good money every month.

I am one of the believers in creating top quality content to increase your readership. Trust me, if you create content that people find useful / interesting you are going to get links and traffic.

You might want to start pushing your fan page a bit more too. I know that facebook has a like box that you can add to your web pages to increase your fans over time.

I have sent a lot of fan page suggestions to all my friends, all of them claimed that they have not received it.
i've read somewhere on the forum that facebook, might be having a little problem with the fan page. idk if that is still going on.

and you are completely right, i wanted to tried something different. in the past, i used to write my own content but had little luck. and again, i am wiser now, than i was back than. so i should give it a try again.

Are you auto blogging and/or scraping your content? It is hard to get page one on a gossip site because of the huge competition. I have a gossip site with original content. Well as original as how many ways can you say Lady Gaga wore a meat dress.

Which leads me to my next point. Just because it is a gossip site doesn't mean you shouldn't be checking keywords. I put Lady Gaga in the Adwords Keyword Free Tool and all the CPCs were .05. Gonna be hard to make big bucks with .05 clicks.

Better example. Gwyneth Paltrow. Put her in the Adwords tool. She has a movie coming out and is a hot topic at the moment. She is also a perennial Hollywood hot topic. Look at the CPC and try to work the bigger numbers into your titles and post keyword phrases. $1.00 a click is going to get you somewhere faster than .05.

Just because you are blogging newsworthy topics doesn't mean you skip the keyword process.

My topics are primarily driven by what is currently in the news. Not hard to find out what topics are trending.

For keywords I use Google's free adwords keyword tool. Not hard to use at all. Just read around the page for how to use.

Just an update of how i am doing,
i went from $5 a week, to making $3 a day.
I follow the instruction my fellow warriors mention above and now, my site is starting to bring me better revenue.
it is a good start i am sure, i will make it better.
Now i need to find a good way to incorporate affiliate links to the autoblog, and products from ebay and amazon, and make more money. thank you all for being patient with me.
