Is a link a link each time?

HI:

If I take a free classified ad out in crigslist, and put my site link on it, is it a new link each time I take a new free ad?

So if i put five links out in a short time, I have five goodgoogle-liking links out in that short time?

Also, I put my site link in my profile at Craigslist, so does it show each time I post as another link?

Also, will it be another link when post to different cities?

Thanks

Jim

  • Im not 100% on that, but I doubt it. Either way posting links in CL ads is short term since the ads don't stay up forever.
  • Yes. CL links can be indexed, but consider this:
If your craigslist link takes 20 days to get indexed and is up for 60 days in the services section before being removed, your link only really exists for 40 days.

That's if it gets indexed at all.
Also it's important to consider that CL makes these links NOFOLLOW's to avert spam.

Unless you get into a more permanent category, like "best of craigslist", but I don't think that applies here.

Remember, with backlinks, it's quality over quantity.
  • I find Craigslist ads get indexed rather quickly. I have had ads showing links from over 100 days ago, and a lot of them. It depends on the marketplace. Sounds contradictory, but post them in small population areas if you want them to stick around longer.

    • If anybody can show me a craigslist ad that's been indexed, please
      post one.

And since all links in ads are nofollow...

But yes, a link is a link is a link. Someone may see it and click.

  • I guess it is technically a link.
  • Craigslist is a no-follow site
