Hide your backlinks from competitors

If you have websites in a highly competitive niche and want to hide your backlinks, there is a simple method to do that. Imagine, for example, you have found unique .edu blogs without spam where you can place your backlinks. If you place the links to your website directly, than after some time they will be visible in yahoo site explorer and to your competitors, and grow with spam comments heavily. To avoid that you can register another domain, point all your precious links to this domain and do a 301 permanent redirect to your website. This way, all the link power and pr will pass to your website but your competitors will never find your backlinks.

I could easily uncover all of those "well hidden" backlinks with scrapebox... No use doing that tbh, anybody who's willing to find them will find them.

This method works but i think most webmasters prefer to link directly to their websites. Do you yourself use this method?

A very useful trick here but can anyone be sure as to if all the backlinks would be passed to your main site.Apart from this,I don't seems to have any reason to hide my backlinks.

During 301:s — not all link juice gets transferred. Keep that in mind!

No matter what you do there will always be a way for people to find your back links unfortunately.

This. But if it's 95%+, that's worth it IMO.

@ abnation, would be interested in hearing more about how you pick up 301's with scrapebox. I know Majestic Seo tool will show them but it's not super quick. Thanks!
