I have 5 websites in the same niche. They are all hosted on the same ip adress. If i interlink them, is there a risk that Google will find it suspisious and drop their rankings?

I think its better that you don't do it at the same time. I myself don't accept such risk. Maybe it doesn't hurt your ranking but maybe it hurts too. So i suggest to link only from some of them to some others. Experts say don't interlink all of your network.

If your have five websites in the same niche why don't you link them to other networks that are related to your site. It is recommended to gain quality backlinks.

If the sites are related and have good content I don't see a reason why you wouldn't interlink those and provide extra quality information or products for your visitors.

In theory you're rankings should improve if one of your sites has a good PR. I'm still toying with the idea as I've managed to get a PR for one of my sites.

It would be good to interlinked to different IP address, so that search engine will consider them all as different sites and the links will be counted genuine that will boost your popularity. So avoid interlinking from same IP and have different IP.

These links will give you value equal to one link. But give more traffic if only for traffic purpose then good. They also can can create problem more weight if you take from same IP.So take from different IPs.

Looking at dozens of top rankings sites from same owner ALL exchanging sitewide links... I guess Google couldn't care less.

But don't take my word for it, do a deeper analysis on some top sites.

I think there is no bad effect but Google consider one site on same IP.

      @vikaskatoch, @joesmith1608 And @jerrinbaker,

Why would you say this? Google doesn't devalue links because they are on the same IP addresses or website. The devalue them because they are spam. You can have all the unique IP addresses you want and Google will still devalue your spam.

Links on the same IP are not devalued if they are relevant and useful. If that were the case then how do explain why internal links are so effective?

Continuing Fernando's thought in a round about way...

You have to look at your 5 sites. Are you doing something that
would cause google to not like any of them? Are any of them
blatantly breaking google webmaster rules? Does any promote
illegal content? Are they just mirror sites to schmooze search engines?

I used to just say that it doesn't matter and leave it at that. But then,
why are people asking this? I regularly link all sites. I'd be a fool not to
in most cases. I'm not worried a bit about google.

If there is a reason why you are worried, you need to look at what you
are doing that may cause a red flag from google.

5 is a very small number to worry about ip diversity if all things are kosher.
But if you have dozens, you may want to get different hosts just in
case some get banned or go belly up.

interlinking them would not be a bad idea but the link quality will be very low.
