You haven't given any information though, what kind of business is it? What is their budget? You want traffic but you dont want to use the search engines? No PPC/SEO/Social Media?

using Google webmaster tools you can select the specific countries there where you want to promote your site in Google SE. Alternatively you can target UK traffic doing PPC

firstly if you want traffic from uk then you have to search uk most relevant keyword related your theme other search uk much traffic fourms site and participate and share your thought other one is ppc marketing

If you want to optimize for uk traffic only than you can use Uk directories for articles, web directories, uk forum sites and lots more like this. And you can update your country in webmaster account also.

with use of seo you cannot target specific audience because it is not in your hands. but if you go for paid advertising in Google adwords or other ppc network then you can target any specific region . so all over control of your business ads is in your control....

Try these sites. They are media buying sites. I have not used any of them yet (although I plan to) I found out about them through a course I purchased.

Make backlinks for your website from UK sites. Its the most important factor. Then set your target country to UK in Google webmaster tools.

post comment in uk forum, submit site in uk directory sites. Also submit your site in classified sites, there is option to choose country. Use social networking sites like facebook, twitter and introduced your site.

Simple - use a .co.uk domain name and make sure that your website is being hosted from a server in the UK.

@whughes08 -

1.) Buy a .co.uk domain. Anyone can buy a co.uk domain and you don't need to prove you're a resident like many ccTLDs require.

2.) If you want a slight potential bonus get a UK host as well.

Next it's pretty much just a matter of driving traffic like you would anywhere else. Publish content, participate in social networks, build links, etc.

1) Try and find .co.uk or .org.uk domain Also if its already registered you can add a prefix or suffix like : yourkeyworduk.com or ukyourkeyword.com

2) Submit articles to uk article directories. Same in the case of "comments"

3) Join some high ranking uk forums and put backlink to your site. (Please don't spam it!)

Go to google trends, search the relevant keywords which has high traffic from UK. Hope this will help you. Beside that, target .co.uk sites for backlinking, directories and other things.

There are plenty way of getting traffic from specific niche, you need to find out social bookmarking, Article, PR, Forums sites which are generating traffic from your niche and region. Use Alexa traffic status for finding sites

Investigate the most searchable keywords (that also are "valid" for your website and try to rank for them) ... But ONLY check the UK search terms (that are currently popular in UK)

Besides using SE traffic you need to search for local sites where you can submit your site and gain direct traffic. This sounds easy but difficult to achieve if you want to go for FREE.
