As stated 3 sites (in sig area) have been built just within the last month. Had some traffic... not much... (collectively 130 hits)!!!

I would like to think that these sites still have potential!!!

I MAY JUST BE IMPATIENT but....should I have at least made 1 sell by now.

I working on building backlinks.... 1 site has 200 backlinks......1 site has 30 something links....1 site has about 6 links...

For my targeted "money maker" keywords.....all are still not within the top 10 pages of google.

Is this normal???

130 hits but how many unique visitors? That really isn't much traffic.

Amazon converts at around 5% for myself, some people get higher though.

That is 5% of the people who visit Amazon after viewing my site, not 5% of people viewing my site.

You need to work on getting some quality traffic to your site before deciding whether they work or not.

"best knife block sets" get a total of 7 exact searches per month while "knife block sets" only gets 202. That is a pretty low pool of traffic you are fishing in.

The competition for "knife block sets" is very weak and after a bit more time and decent backlinks you should get to #1 ok - but is it worth it? Do your numbers on conversion and see what the potential is. You need to work out the Click Through Rate you can get from your website to Amazon and then from there work out your Amazon conversion rate. Even at a 50% CTR at the article, you have a maximum amount of sales of 5 per month if all 202 searches come to your site. The reality is that only about 40 to 50% of the 202 will even click through to your site from Google - if you are ranked #1. That lowers your potential sales for that site to 2 or 3 per month with the generous 50% CTR.

I haven't checked the other 2 websites but have a look at the traffic levels to make sure it is worth it. There might be more potential by expanding out into product lines in each market rather than just the base keyword. Find a popular knife block and see if it gets searched more often. Do the same for the generators and dehumidifiers too.

I've got a friend working with Amazon, but he sells on Amazon, I take it your trying to sell via affiliate sales? Based off of what he tells me, there's a lot of money in just selling products from your local walmart on amazon ($x,xxx a week.)

"Knife block sets" (my keyword) gets 202 searches a day not month.

At least that's What Market Samurai tell me!!

You might want to check that. You are targeting Amazon so make sure you select the location as Unitied States. I double checked in the Google Keyword Tool and it says 404 exact per month (or 1000 for the phrase). MS does say 202 per month. The term is mainly searched for in Nov/Dec so expect traffic to drop in a couple of months.

    Exactly what Fraggler said.

I need 200 UVs to my site for 1 Amazon sale. Roughly 10% click through to amazon with a 5% conversion rate once they are on amazon's site. Wish I could get a 50% click through to amazon

Edit: I have had a site with 30% click through to amazon and 10% of people clicking through who actually purchased something but these were for cheaper products and more of a "I need to get one now" kind of product.

Mate give it more time and backlinks, I know what your doing i have read that amazon money making guide and it works your sites look nice so...
You have not done your keyword research correct some of the keywords you are targeting dont get any traffic and your sites are not ranking page 1 top 3 what did you expect ?

I have site with over 3.500 exact searchers per month for the keyword and the traffic can be pretty low some months so if you compair my 3,500 exact searches to your keywords you can see why your not getting many sales.

But the guide your using is good your sites look very nice so turn up the keyword research

I only got my 1st sale in the 3rd month. So your case is completely normal. Not to worry.

Derh, your problem is actually REAL simple. If you heed this advice you will drastically reduce your learning curve and eliminate the head scratching.

The First Rule of Thumb in IM
Never proceed to building a second website until you have learned how to get "1" website making money.

The mistake you are making is made by countless IMers; they start off buying domain names like crazy and then proceed to launching site after site with great expectations. Ten, twenty, thirty and fifty websites later, they are asking the exact same question you are asking, "Where's the $$$?"

Please understand this; until you learn the process of making "1" site earn income, you will only engage in building a boatload of non-income producing websites.

People will try and debate this rule but REMEMBER this; a man with an experience is not at the mercy of a man with an argument. You already have the experience of building non-income producing sites. Albeit, if only for a short span of time. There are people on this forum who are where you are and have been there for a couple of years now and still see no light at the end of the tunnel.

They have websites all over the place in all kinds of niches but haven't made enough money to pay for their domain name registrations.

Consequently, you need to put the brakes on two of those sites and focus all of your attention and energy on 1 website. Get that "1" site making $$$ and take what you learned in the process and rinse and repeat.

The Second Rule of Thumb in IM
Know the IM waters! This is another HUGE mistake made by most noobs. They dive into the IM ocean head first not considering there are Bull Sharks, Humboldt Squids, Killer Whales and Blue Ringed Octopus in the water and that's why they are constantly getting eaten alive.

To be clear; IM has a steep learning curve followed by a lot of hard work. There are no short cuts and no magic push button pills that are going to propel you to instant rankings and instant success.

If you think the IM Bull Sharks are giving up territory "just because," you are living in a fool's paradise! Embrace the learning curve and attack it with a vengeance and you will shorten it. Reject the learning curve and the IM Humboldt Squids and Killer Whales are going to make mince meant out of you.

As part of your learning process, I see that you have Market Samurai. You need to make sure that you have a clear grasp of MS. Meaning that you can at least use these modules with great efficiency: Keyword Research, SEO Competition, Rank Tracker, Promotion and Find Content.

The Third Rule of Thumb in IM
Build a firm foundation! The foundation of your success starts with Niche Research and Keyword Research; get this wrong and you might as well have not built any websites. I scanned one of your sites and saw that you were about ten thousand miles off course with the primary keyword that you chose.

Be advised, you MUST grasp KR and NR before proceeding any further. I can guesstimate what you did that made you believe you had a winner Keyword Phrase. You were most likely using "Broad Match" search as opposed to "Exact Match" search. That's a rookie mistake that is easily correctable.

Once you get Keyword Research and Niche Research down, you want to get a grasp on ON Page SEO. Next, you want to grasp OFF Page SEO. This includes but is not limited to spying on your competition using a process called Reverse Engineering. You have MS so reverse engineering is within your reach. You can also use the free version of SEO Spy Glass to get a better view.

The purpose of RE is to determine/estimate how much effort you will need to take the top spot in the SERPs. If you build ANY site and don't know the answer to that question prior to launching, that just means you are not a serious or prepared IMer. Serious and Prepared IMers never go into any niche wondering what the outcome is going to be.

Follow that advice and you will be building income producing websites that grab top rankings seemingly with ease.
