Facebook Ads - Not Long for this World...

This is my own opinion - so go ahead and bash away. I know at times we all will disagree & that's why I love to have healthy debates.

My view is that FB ads will not be popular by IM ppl. Why? FB is not a search website. The average person gets on FB to post their opinions or upload pics/vids...not to search. They go to a search engine for that.

I've studied and experimented w/ FB ads and my CTR was less than 1%. I'm not the only one. I've talked to other IM or SEO ppl and they are saying the same thing. The best I've heard is 3% from a couple of ppl.

I'm predicting that ppl will move back to Adwords (they really never left) and forget about FB ads. If your doing good w/ FB ads - hey, great - but I really believe that you are in the minority.

errrr, I disagree. FB Ads is great and is definitely not going anywhere. PPC is great since NEW people are searching everyday, so once you get a campaign dialed in, it has some staying power. Whereas FB is like advertising inside a building - Everybody sees your ads consistently.

I don't think you have any idea. I've personally made alot of money on FB ads alone. It works, but it requires a different mindset and strategy than PPC. To say that FB ads is not effective is a severe oversight on your part IMO

You cannot compare the two. To advertise on FB, you need an entirely different strategy and only certain types of products will work.

It is entirely normal to have a CTR of 0.5% or even 0.1% on FB. Who really cares, as long as you are getting enough volume from your audience.

FB ads are not going anywhere, but they have a long, long way to
go. The ongoing publicity about how lousy they are is not doing
them any good. But FB will do some tweaking. They have got to
change. If not, all you will see is ads for FB pages, which is quite
lame when you think about it.

Free twitter tweats are light years ahead of the game. Could be
because twitter has partnered with the right people. FB has not.

FB is also having trouble being taken seriously for nothing more
than staying in contact with Aunt Lucy or Ralph, the ugly kid
who sat behind you in 2nd grade. I got along well for years without them,
      I don't need them now.

My wife facebooks to the max, and I can tell you it is quite nauseating.

      I can take the bashing.

Facebook is a good place for advertising some businesses not all of them. The products or services which are relating to social services or the products which are targeting for a special range of age can be succeed in Facebook., But adwords is a good place for advertising anything you imagine.

FB is good for branding, but can't come close to Adwords as far as results of sales.

It shouldn't take them long to figure out that they need to add a search feature to FB. Their own engine. I'm sure that this keeps many Goggle employees up at night worrying about it.

Online Marketing has become extremely popular for the last four years, and during this period, Google AdWords was the top online marketing tool of choice among advertisers. AdWords still remains as the dominant player, but the rise of social networking site Facebook has opened an alternative door of opportunity for online advertisers. It is through Facebook Ads Marketing.

Facebook may still be fairly young in the world of online marketing, but as early as now, many advertisers have been impressed with the ROI that they've got after putting up their advertisements in Facebook.
