I remember once using a free tool that told me all of the backlinks a certain website had does anyone use something that does this?

As bringinrevenue mentioned I think the one you are looking for is SEOSpyglass. They do have a free version included in the SEO PowerSuite.

SEO cannot bring immediate results. It can take months or even years to put a website in high rankings in search services. People who want to do SEO job should be patient and interested, they have to explore new techniques and earn knowledge to succeed
