Ways to boost your Adsense CTR

Just a quick way to boost your adsense CTR, this is a simple method.

Simply, this works for all adsense websites, unless you are trying to review a product for adsense.

What you should do is write an article, in the process of writting the article, make sure you do not answer the keywords question, e.g. where can I find xxxxx product. Make sure it is very brief on answering that question, as the user will then go looking for more. They will go looking through your Google adsense ads, this upped my CTR by 20% through giving less information on the topic.

Works a treat!

  • Might work good for CTR but what about returning traffic? =)
  • I think you need to either have an 'Affiliate' site or an 'Adsense' site and keep them separate. Either promote affiliate products or promote Adsense, otherwise one takes away from the other.

    Thanks for the post Owen!

    • Works great with info sites. A simple yet powerful suggestion. It's something that is really overlooked. Good call, Owen.
    • You don't have to define a site like that - you just have to change up between pages. Find the best monetisation method for the page, not the site.

Not every page on a site will promote an affiliate product and not every information style page will be suitable for a mailing list. Adsense can fit in well for filler pages on established sites.
  • Its a really intelligent way. In this way visitors can find their answers on Adsense ads. Its nice but do visitors like these articles?
  • If you don't want (or expect) anyone to link to you, share your site with their friends etc. then this is a solid idea.

Uninformative content is less likely to get linked to or shared.

    • I use this method myself on some of my pure adsense sites. I just dont give the visitors what they want, products. My ads does that. And it works fantastic.
