So here is the deal - I am still relatively new to the IM scene - been dabbling about half a year but very slowly. I have right now 6 sites that are all MFA/Affiliate hybrids, by which I mean they are basic MFA type sites with either a aStore link or some amazon links sprinkled in the content. The content on these sites is good but relatively sparse - the only site I have with lots of content is a brand new WP robot site in the Beauty Product niche. Anyhow, all of these sites should be layups to get page one in google - easy top 10 competition with low PR, 0-20 backlinks and the monthly searches are in the 50-300 range. I am trying to start with easy sites before working on harder sites to rank.
Help me create a backlinking strategy

SO, as of right now when I create a new site, here is what I do:
1. Handle all of the wordpress on page SEO via All in One SEO and so forth. I am an experienced web dev so this for me is the easy part.
2. Submit my sites URL and RSS feed via Ping-o-Matic and Pingoat.
3. Submit my site url via ping.fm (17 social media outlets)
4. Submit my RSS feed via Icansoft RSS Robot.
....Aaaaaand this is where I start to get a bit lost.
Now, I have tried and am aware of a number of options here: Paid backlinking (profile links or link packets), Article Submissions, Blog Commenting, Back Linking services, Forum Posts and link wheels. Ultimately I haven't really found one to be any better than another.
I am hoping some experienced marketers can help me lock down my backlinking plan. I think steps 1-4 are good but obviously I need to do more.
So, any thoughts?
