Sumbitting my site to 1000 directories?

I have a site that need traffic and I got an offer to pay $400 for having my site submitted to 1000 directories. Now could this be worth the money or is this something that I could do my self?

The only reason for me to pay is the following:

A) "They" have some one-push-button tool that submits to all 1000 directories at once and if I do it myself it will take to much time and effort to do this manually

Or

B) "They" also have to do this manually but they have knowledge of a lot more directories that I do, so I wouldn't know all the directories to submit to.

you have to try and know some of the directories they want to submit your site. also whether the directories are dofollow links or not, and also the pr of the site. if all are ok, the 400$ is not bad at all.

As far as I know there are softwares out there you can buy that do this kind of thing for a much lower price, and you can re use them. You should try googling article submission software and look around for the cheapest & most effective softwares. They should be much lower than $400. I personally wouldn't pay this.

I prefer for manual submission to the directories. It will takes time but its worth it for your site PR rankings.

It depends on the quality of those directories and approval ratio of them. If they are really experts on choosing different titles and descriptions for your website, maybe it worths. But i myself don't use these services and submit my sites to some quality directories manually.

Even if they did submit to 1000 sites, not all will approve or even look at it. You'll be lucky if you even got 300 out of them. If you really want to do it then buy this software instead and submit to about 400 DirectoryBot | Quickly and Easily Submit your Domains to over 500 online web directories with the click of a button. I've managed to get about 50-100 of them approved. I think by luck.

Directory sites are weak these days and that service supplier is just hyping up his service. With $400 and depending on the niche you're in, you can do WAY more than just directories.

It sounds like you're a newbie because anyone that knows anything about SEO will not advise you to do a $400 one shot blast at directories. If there is any directory I would submit to it's Dmoz (slim chance of acceptance) and Yahoo directory (paid).

Let me know if you want know more how you can use your $ wisely.

    Best regards
    Michael

      To answer your question, "NO!"

Most companies that provide that type of service use: DigiXMas along with DeCaptcha. You can do the same thing for $15.00 for the DigiXMas submission and the cost of the DeCaptcha, which will be about $2.00 to $3.00.

After that, you will need to wait about 70 to 100 days to give the majority of the directories time to post your link and then go back and grab those links and bookmark and ping them to make sure they are indexed and cached.

For the higher end directories that charge a fee, you can pay them to get a listing. I'd pay no more than $30.00 per lifetime listing.

Submitting 1000 links at once it is not good from SEO point of view, on the other hand the submission would be automation.

One more thing is that $400 is too high for 100 submission, you can get it done in $100 as well.

Why don't you just use the IMT Directory Submitter. It's a free online tool that submits your sites to directories.... FOR FREE! And it really does submit them.... I think the count is at like 2400-2500 directories now?!

I tried it out. It actually works and it's UBER EZ :p I think it's actually better than some a lot of the paid directory submitting programs....

While the IMT submitter is a wonderful service, the vast majority of the links created from using this tool are DNS/WHOIS type sites, which no one really goes to.

It's link quality over quantity guys.

Still. 2400 free links feels good: I use it also :p

I think you have confused my other toll with directory submitter, I have two free tools for now:
IMT Website Submitter - Who is & about us type of service (main purpose is indexing)
IMT Directory Submitter - Free semi-auto directory submitter

You can find out more about it in my sig...

You are confusing the IMT Directory Submitter tool and IMT Backlink Building tool, which you are correct is DNS/WHOIS type meta indexes.

Sorry to say this so harshly but : DOING this would be a major mistake your best bet is to take time and study this forum you have some sharp people on WF as well as SHARKS try to avoid looking like a bloody FISH.

You could get a new fangled link wheel type set up done for you at $100 bucks and use the other $300 to learn about directory submissions value in the over all scheme of things.

You also should never have all your links coming from one source, even though I have graduated to not running around in fear of GOOGLE - why put a giant target sign on your website?

The only good thing from your 400 for 1000 "Directory links" is the fact that you are sharp enough to ask the question before falling for the HYPE!

Not going to happen. I'd be surprised if you even get 1 visitor from 1000 directories.

Google could care less if you submit your sites to 1,000 directories.
Funny how some things just don't make sense. All links from same things?
      Why would google care?

Anyway, there are not 1,000 directories worth submitting to. That's
the first sad fact. The second is, there may be less than 10, only I
      can name maybe 5.

Spend the money on getting in yahoo's directory and pocket the extra
      money.

Forget that yahoo thing and just spend $400 on some real SEO.

Submitting to 1,000 directories? I'd never even do a dozen!

Absolutely not worth it. They're trying to rob you. Directory links provide very little SEO benefit; they're about the least valuable links. That said, if you want a push-button software that will automatically submit your site to about 500 directories (that you can use an infinite number of times for many sites) then check out Incansoft.com -- Big Mike's Directory Submitter is like $30.

It depends. Ask the list of directories first and their corresponding PR. It also possible that a huge chuck of links will not be accepted. $400 is not that bad but you must also know that you get your money's worth.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2970126].message }}
  • You need to do some research on those 1000 directory list, found whether all the sites is having a page rank and also find whether it is a do-follow or no-follow,check whether all the links exist,400 $ is too high according to me,why not you try to submit it manually, there are so many free submission sites available on the net,you have to wait for some days to get approved..

    That is an absolute rippoff!

Don't (EVER!) pay that amount of money for article submission, you can get it done a LOT cheaper than that.

For $400 I would expect them to submit 1000 unique articles for me each month for 2 years!

Just look around and do your research. Don't go for the overly hyped-up offers that are designed to suck newbies in.

      Hey,

There are many if and buts for your question.

Here are the few major points

      1. Is your website a legitimate website? website dealing with Porn or gambling business finds very difficulties to get 1000 good back-links.

      2. There are many softwares that offers you 1000 backlinks for less. But please check out whether they are giving you back-links from a good websites / directories? Whether they will be permanent listing ?

      3. With a little knowledge of Link Building & some constant efforts, you can do it your own.

As per the good SEO practice, you can do the work by your own, with proper knowledge or can hire a SEO Professional

I find the best jump in the rankings is by contacting other webmasters in my niche and ask for a link, or offer to create content for a link.

It is amazing how many of them are open to having content created in exchange for a link. Google is getting smarter all the time. I would gladly have 10 strong "in my niche" links than 100 links from lousy directories.

    Keep it real.

    Just my 2 cents...

@BoJon - I would def get a list of the directories they are submitting to for $400. Some directories cost $ to submit to (which I'm sure you know).

However, if you want to try outsourcing your directory submissions on the cheap I reccomend checking out Fiverr.com - Fiverr / Search results for 'directory submission'

You might be able to find someone that will submit to a couple hundred directories for $5. That def minimizes your losses if it doesn't work out.
