How do I find where my site is in the SERPS?

Could someone please tell me how to find where my site is in the major search engines?

I'm beginning some backlinking and I want to monitor the progress to see if they are
moving up (to page 1 - fingers crossed).

Is there software for this?

Or some service I can join?

I'd also like to track the rank of articles too if possible.

Thanks for any information.

There are several tools. A couple of free ones that work pretty well are:

    SEOBook RankChecker

I use rankchecker for my sites and it does work pretty well. One bit of advice with it...

Once you check your sites ranking dont close that window (with the free version) if your wanting to track it on a regular basis. Once you close it you lose the previously stored info. I think if you upgrade to the paid version thats not a problem....overall it's a pretty good tool.

      Good luck with your site!

You can use seobook rank tracker for free, or upgrade to a much better paid version. This is what I use when I'm tracking keywords that are in the top 100.

If I'm working with a brand new site, I like to use Market Samurai.

SEObook ranktracker is great if you get the paid for version you can add in your info, and it will check it everyday for you...no need to go in there and click everyday...just set it and forget it. The ONLY thing I don't like about it, is that it only checks the top 100.

You can try either of them for free and see what you like more, I've never tried web ceo.
