$0.05 CPC - 400,000 Monthly Search

So I have found a list of about 15 keywords that total up to 400,000 searches monthly and each keyword costs $0.05 (according to Google Keyword Tool).

Does that mean I will be paying NO MORE than $0.05 per click for these terms? I searched on Google and the ad spots have NO showing ads on them (meaning no advertisers). That being said, I see no other reason that Google wouldn't give me these keywords for $0.05 a click beings they aren't making any money currently with the ad spots that are blank.

My landing site makes me $20 per affiliate sale. Which after my math, I would have to make ONE SALE every 400 visitors to my site. All visitors being targeted people, I think this is VERY doable. Let me know if you have had problems selling a $40 product to one person in 400 visitors. (Or any similar scenario).

    No, it depends on the keywords that you use on your site. Also if you use the ineterst based advertising option the CPC kan be a lot more.

      Interest based? I don't think I've heard of this before o.o.


      And I was afraid of that. I did not do too much optimizing for every keyword on my site before I only have about 3,000-4,000 words total on the site... so to fit all 15 keywords would have been a struggle. So if I don't even MENTION one of the keywords directly on my site, I will have to pay more than $0.05? I was hoping Google was see the relevance between a slight different keyword...

      I.E. : 'training with toys' on my site (talking about dogs)

      But my keyword is dog training

    Its the average bid and its probable that you earn less or more than it. Also i think competition on keywords with 400,000 exact monthly search is really difficult. Have you checked it?
