IP address question

Google counts backlinks from the same IP address as one backlink. But if I create 3 backlinks from same source (eg from article directory) pointing TO 3 (different) of my sites which have the same IP address, does Google count all the backlinks or what?

Hope you understand what I mean

  • To my best knowledge, Google does not count multiple backlinks from the same IP address as a single backlink.

If this were the case then every domain would only be able to give any given page a single backlink. So adding a link in a forum signature or commenting on multiple posts within the same blog would be pointless, from a link building perspective.

Creating THOUSANDS+ of backlinks from a single IP address to a specific site would be a backlink bomb and a bad one at that. Backlink bombing is a black hat strategy, and shouldn't be executed from a single IP address, although a few black hat SEO's do make this mistake the first time around.

So to answer your question, yes. Google is indeed counting all of those backlinks.
