I have been starting to get into extremly micro niches that generally no one delves into. These niches only get around 300-500 exact searches a month for my primary keywords. I would absolutley say no its not worth it if there was not a catch but there is. These niches all have search resuls with 0 page link competitors, and the niches offer amazon products. sure I might only get 4000 visitors a year and at a 1% conversion rate maybe only 40 buyers, but the niches do get stable traffic. I simply social bookmarked my website with the keyword in my domain and walah 12hours later I'm rank 14 on the results. I can easly take #1. One worry I do have is shopping results is ranking above all the competitors, how difficult is it to pass up google shopping results in the serps? And overal is it worth it for a new imer?

  • from what i hear, niche stuff is where it's at. if you can create sites in a variety of niches and get good rankings for each, you can create a stream of multiple income sources AND dominate the rankings with relative ease.

this is all hearsay however, i have never attempted to dominate a niche

    • I am involved in 2 niches like this and they are very reliable in terms of sales. Sure you need quite a few to make a living but they work well.

Just keep them to yourself - Don't share these niches

  • This is a very good strategy. Often over time those niches will either die down or get busier. Your site stands a great chance over other website when the niche gets busier so you have the potential to make a lot of money over time.
  • Hey Look4VGames,

I've been doing this for a few years now and this is the best advice I can give you. Do you keyword research, do your competition analysis, bla bla bla. Buy exact match domain names to rank quickly. Do this until you can't afford any more domain names. After a year, because this is when you have to renew your domains, if the amount of money you made is more than the cost of the domain, renew it. If not, dump it. Rinse and repeat until you have hundreds of Web sites that are all making you more than what you pay for them.

"How many times you can spend a dollar to make two dollars"? That's micro niche sites

    Hope this helps.

    • Yes, that is my goal. my first website i started was essentially a 3000 page e commerce store and Seo was IMPOSSIBLE to maintain although i did get 10,000 views a month from random keywords i got 0 conversions because keywords were crap. So i want to go the opposite way to SEO i can maintain and research. May i ask how many average searches do your sites get a month?
  • Really? I love Ecommerce, or being an affiliate for physical products. Where you in some type of Electronics store or something?

Anyway, my sites vary between 5,000 visitors a month to 30 visitors a month, depending on the niche. Typically, I just set up a exact match domain, post about 5 or 6 product reviews that are easy to rank and let is sit for about a month. I'll then go back and add a few backlinks if I need to. Typically, most of them get ranked without any backlinks, I just use backlinks for a little more juice and Google love.

The key is to spend, spend, spend....see which ones are making money....and then drop or sell the ones that are not. Rinse and repeat until satisfied. The hardest part is spending the money upfront, but that's the name of the game!

P.S. You can always go for high priced items in micro micro niche sites. More payout, less buyers needed to satisfy your $ goals.

    • Yea the niche was in electronics market, this was before i did any niche research or even knew how to do it, and it was a video game online retail shop. Not only did i not realize, that 99% of video game stores fail due to low ROI's (you make about $2-3 on a new game because wholesale prices are around $55 for a $60 new game), and gamestop rapes the serps.

Thanks for the info on the search traffic aswell
  • Yeah, no problem! That's interesting, I never knew that. If you ever go Ecommerce again, just think of stuff people break or need replacement parts for. If they need it, they will buy it.

    Good Luck!
  • Yes, dealing in very small micro niches can work. The trick to being successful with this strategy is VOLUME. You need dozens of these little sites to build a sizable income. But, to answer your question, Yes it can & does work.

    Good Luck!

  • I've never gotten into it heavily, but I definitely believe in the power of "micro micro" niches. My main money site only get 690 searches a month, and a #1 ranking for that keyword pays my living expenses.

Making money online is much more about being #1 for a keyword than choosing the best keyword in the world.

    • May i ask how you make the money on your site? i dont want specfic examples because i dont want you to have to give it away, maybe just something generic or $$ figures?

  • Yes, it's worth it. Your conversion rates, via Amazon, are likely to be much higher than 1%.
