Developing web 2.0 properties

People suggest using web 2.0 properties to give backlinks to money sites. I get that.

Exactly what would constitute a proper web 2.0 site, though? I rewrote (not spun) an article from my site and put it on a wordpress.com blog. 1 page, and linked it to my site. Is that good enough, or do you need to actually develop a "mini website"? I noticed that webmaster tools isn't showing the backlick, which doesn't necessarily mean it's not counting, but I'm just not sure.

    You should link to your website from several web 2.0 sites and then link to each of them from another one. You need linkwheel and i explained it as easy as i could. There are many threads about strategies for linkwheel and you can use them. But the main idea is what i said.

    Yeah, I understand the concept of a linkwheel (and that the standard circular ones are no longer effective) but my real question is what I mentioned in the first post: what constitutes a proper web 2.0 site? Can it be a single article, copied verbatim from your site? Or should it be a mini site composed of several unique pages?

    You want it to be unique content (an article or multiple posts, a review) that relates to the site that you are targeting your link to (money site).
