Benefit of multiple articles on the same site

This is something I have always wondered - getting good rankings is achieved by getting your link on as many unique domains as possible, but what about people who submit 20 different articles to the SAME directory? are they wasting their time?

Obviously they will do better to submit to 20 DIFFERENT directories, but does anybody have any direct experience of submitting to the same directory?

  • thanks for your responses, though neither of you have actually answered the question directly - surely it is BETTER to get links from DIFFERENT domains than multiple links from the SAME domain? thanks!

    • No, Bill answered your question. Read his book. Creating articles is much more than just getting backlinks. Much more.

      There are many other factors that affect ranking.

      Its also not just about ranking, it's about getting sales.

    • It does not matter that links are acquired from the same directory. You are missing the point of article marketing if you want to limit yourself to one article on each directory...

      But, it is to your benefit to get your articles on as many domains as possible, with great diversity...

  • Its Ok to have 20 unique articles in one directory. I have several articles on ezinearticles directory and lots of them rank well. You can submit the same article to other top directories.
