1. Introduction

Hello WF members,

I haven't properly introduced myself, so I'll let you know that I joined the forum a few weeks ago and have been posting in and out. I left DP because it's flooded with people who can barely speak english, and I found that a lot of the posts were rubbish.

2. About Me

I'm a web developer with five+ years of experience and have run a mix of websites. I've made plenty for myself ranging from gaming, to health, GPT sites, directories, and others. Over the past few years I've learned a lot from working on my own projects and working on sites for people IRL. I started with freewebs.com in 7th grade and have since learned html, css, php, mysql, photoshop, seo, ajax, and more.

3. The Want

Since I ran a successful GPT site over two years ago I've been obsessed with trying to find a way to bring that success back again and again. I've ventured into many ideas, some of them worked, but not as well as I would have liked, or flopped. I took a year off to help a start up company, which eventually went nowhere, so I left them, and now I'm here.

4. The Challenge

Passive income is the best answer I believe for me. I'm a busy student with a part-time job already. I'm currently making $xxx/mo from a site of mine, but I'd like to challenge myself more, to add another "x" to that digit, learn some more, make more. So, what I'm going to do is start learning more about passive income, Adsense, Kontera, CPA, etc.

5. The Operation

I plan on starting a website tonight (once you read this, I will have already started.) I am looking at low search count/high competition keywords and have found a few, but will be pursuing them for real starting now.

While I can't tell you what keyword I'm looking at (that would defeat the purpose.) I will tell you that it gets roughly 10k searches per month, a cpc average of $3.

6. Monetization & Success

I will use a multitude of ways to make the site successful. I will be using a custom coded site to build the site. The reason that I will not be using WP is because I'm challenging myself to build not just a well ranking site, but a custom site as well.
  • Design/Layout: Two column
  • Platform: Custom
  • Main Method of traffic: SEO, social networks, forums, blogs
  • Monetization: Adsense, Kontera (possibly affiliate products as well)

7. Plan & Closing
I have figured the traffic and within the first month my goal is $50, second month $xxx, third month & onward $x,xxx. I've evaluated the niche and I believe it can be done. I will be updating this thread with what I'm doing, what I'm learning, and how I'm doing. Also, will be spending less than $50 to promote the site.

If it all works out, I may perform a full right up and give it away for free as well as go public with the custom posting platform that I have built. I hope to get tons of input from everyone. Thanks!

Welcome to the Warrior Forum and Good Luck With Your Challenge. Adsense is a GREAT way to monetize a site.

You might want to re-think The Operation part of your challenge (I am looking at low search count/high competition keywords). This sounds backwards to me, but hey I might be wrong.

    Good Luck!

    Just my 2 cents....

Thank you for the concern, I figure that ~10k searches is a decently low search query count, where as 100k might be a mid query count.

I like how you think . 100k being mid-query. Thinking big is what makes the money in this field to be honest. Anything can be done if you put your mind to it. Good luck man and welcome to Warrior Forum!
