What tool to evaluate a site's SEO relevance befrore...

If someone comes to you and wants you to "get more traffic for my site". What tools do you use to see where they are right now? How competitive they are for the keywords they need but don't realize they need? I think there is a feature in Market murai that gives a snap shot of a site and how they are [positioned with the competition?

Any other tools that can tell HOW MUCH WORK is needed for a specific site. .

Also . what is best tool to check any site and determine what keywords that site should go after. I think SEO Elite might do some of this. I know SEO Spyglass will tell how they stand against competition. but wanted to more thorough analysis of the site and exactly WHAT keywords they need. Any other thoughts? Thanks

    There is a free tool called Link Diagnosis, for firefox only. it give you nice info about the site's keywords, backlinks and more

    Market samurai is a great tool that can help you choose keywords. One of the most important modules is the seo competition module and this can really give you a great idea about what you are stacked against.

    Remember, its not all about backlinks. If you have a client who wants you to do seo on your site and you really don't know much about it you're better off outsourcing the work and charging a premium to the client. Anything that is even mildly competitive is probably out or your reach if you don't have any knowledge yet.
