Video Sitemap Question

Good morning-
I have a video sitemap for my tutorials. I had heard that its smart because Google can't read flash etc. In spite of my effort, my videos do not seem to be indexed well yet and I am wondering if I pinged the sitemap with pingoat or pingomatic, if that would help.
Any thoughts on this or is organic the only way to go?

  • video sitemaps are the rage... i heard a google webinar where they said only put one video perpage and dont use a muli-player with lots of videos in it if you want to get ranked

    i know that yoast is about to come out with a plugin that will make sitemaps and submit for you I believe.

    • I don't know about pinging your sitemap, but you should submit it to webmaster tools.

      Does anyone know if I have to create a separate sitemap for each video, or if I can have several videos (on separate landing pages) listed in the same sitemap?
  • Video sitemaps are my new target for learning about. YouTube is amazing and all, but if I can get videos on my site indexed, then I am all about it.

    I will do some digging and let you all know what I find out.
  • use the wordpress plugin for video sitemaps, will save you a load of headache
