    I would recommend you focus on content. You can submit to paid directories. However, only a handful of them provide value. In addition to that, stay away from all these low quality link exchange providers.

    OK, so you said that "help" with backlinking right? So you want to learn the mechanics or you want help as in being able to outsource it? If its the former then just check out the webmaster blog by Google. No one has the basics down better than they do.

      Actually yep I think I misread the OP as well. I read it to mean he was looking to outsource his SEO/backlinking. If you want to learn SEO mad.hat just listed a great source to get started.
