Hi Warriors,

Is there any tool online that can be used to know exactly the number of backlinks pointing to your site ?

The only site I use that seems good is http://www.backlinkwatch.com

Any suggestions ?

No tool can report 100% of your accumulated backlinks. Mainly because the search engines do not report all the backlinks they find to your site. Otherwise their algorithms could easily be reverse engineered.

If you would like some advice from someone who this year has grabbed over 500 page one rankings (and still have them) I suggest you quit checking the amount of backlinks you have accumulated. That information doesn't do you any good whatsoever mainly because not all backlinks are created equal. I have seen a site grab a #1 overall ranking with only one backlink posted (pr 8 index). While I have seen some sites with close to half a million backlinks not even show up in the top 100 of the serps (pr 0's). The thing to do is to keep submitting them every day and once a day check your ranking on the serps. That's the only real stat you should concern yourself with.

If you are looking for the backlink count of your own websites, the better method is to login your webmaster tools and check incoming links. backlinkwatch is good for checking link count of competitor.

    For Google -
Check the backlinks in Google Webmaster Tools. You will get to know about internal as well as external links to the website.
    For Yahoo-
Do a link:www.site.com in yahoo search and you will get exact number of backlinks to your website.

Both search engines allows you to export/download the link data for your convenience.

      Hi,
My webmaster tools say I only have about 5 links, but I know I have closer to 30. My site is only about 10 days old though. Is this just a case that I need to be a little more patient? Thanks

I use SEO Spy Tools and linkdiagnosis.com. They both give me nice insight about backlinks and SEO Spy Tool is also updating on regular basis, they collect backlinks from various search engines, and so far it's one of the best tools I've seen.

I'd use a paid services honestly. Yahoo no longer supports the linkdomain query.
