google business listings help !!!

Hey spoiledkid01,

Google places has changed a bit in the last few months. Here is a blog post that I found to be helpful:

I think If the local business has a website that is also optimized for the keywords you're targeting can be very beneficial and increase rankings.

I have a website that is in the #1 spot for a local business and it's above Google Places...with google places new format I thought pure SEO for local businesses was dead, but I guess not.

Are you just getting started with offline consulting? I've been going at it for the last 3 months and it seems like there is a lot of potential.

LOCALDOMINATOR , what things you want to know ?
i want to rank site fitness concepts dot cm
at the keyword
" chino hills personal trainer "
if you check it , my reviews are high , my citations are more than many sites which are in top 7 , my rank is 5 star but its still at position " I " . . . and that thing make me really sad

i have read that google gives preference to the sites which are near to the center of the city , correct me if i am wrong ?
plz check the site and let me know what you think .

Well, it looks like you are doing a good job with your organic. Your Google Places listing is violating GP terms in a few areas. You will have to remove the Chino Hills out of your categories. Google is slapping this harder and harder now. Keep doing the citations, specifically in hyper local directories. Your review count is huge so that isn't the issue. Google maps is all about relevancy and location.

Sometimes you are not the right one, but close, in location
and relevancy. Hence, why some are listed first.

You should be on yelp, yellow pages, etc.

Nobody searches for that whole type of phrase using quotes.

I get your squidoo page in results, actually, and I live close to Chino Hills.
That is, when I search in quotes.

You are not going to get on maps in the right spot, and high, if your
zip code and address are not in tune with Chino Hills.

Relevancy and location. Don't try and schmooze either.

i was late at that thing they marked it as spam

now it is dropped from " I " position to unknown place .

Its important that all the information you provide is true (address, contact info etc). Believe it or not Google can tell. I'm not saying that this is what you are doing but if you are it could be making you fight uphill.

In general it is just more difficult to rank higher than sites that have held their rankings for a while so this is also working against you as most of the top ranking spots have been up there.

so right sir . . . !!!
the site which is on 1st position in my rivals , got 8 fake addresses and ph numbers .
and he is holding two spots among 7 . that is weird .

any suggestion from you , will be greatly appreciated .

I never said they were watching just that they could tell. Please read my post again.

There are plenty of reasons to have truthful information in these listings and if you don't acknowledge them, that is fine.

Just to respond to your question, why are there so many professional athletes STILL taking steroids? No one is watching as they shoot up but if it comes to it the powers that be can tell.

I'm not saying one way or another that they are watching or not. I just felt like I had to respond to your question.

Google can NOT tell if it is a true address or not.
Why? They don't have the worlds street database to verify.

Google can NOT tell if it is a true address or not.

Well, here in Canada (and in Britain and in Denmark, from what I understand) they do actually, in a sense. This is because every Canadian alphanumeric postal code corresponds to a separate address, this database is freely available, contains longitude and latitude and is superimposed onto Google maps.

But, of course, Google cannot know if an establishment at an address really exists or not.

Whenever I personally see a fake places place, I do flag it on my Hotpot account.

@Localdominator,

Just a quick question. Was wondering if there was any way to help Google Find/Lists your citations faster in the Gmap listing. Like Pinging or Status.net or anything else. It takes forever to wait for G to find them. ?
