Frustrated!!!

My site has been online for a month now. I've got 100 backlinks to it. I've done some article marketing, I've done some social bookmarking, I've even had my outsourcing guy submit some Angela's links on it. But it is no where to be found in any search engine! Tips?

I'll even show you the site and tell you my keyword phrase: Self Defense Weapons

Why does Google hate it??

  • I checked the site and I found it in Google. I first of all used the url you gave:

    site:your site url (including www)

but no pages were found indexed in Google. Therefore, I used this:

    site:your site url (without www)

and 9 pages are already in Google index.

There is a difference between www included urls and urls without www and you need to make sure you use the correct url for your backlinking purpose.

    • Oh wow I didn't even notice that!! Thanks!!
  • Well to start with, you've got 100+ backlinks according to Yahoo, but only from 2 domain names and across loads of pages, which really isn't any good to be honest, you need to buil high quality backlinks. I didn't spot any article marketing backlinks, are your articles approved now? If they are, do some linking to the article URL to get the articles indexed, once you've got say 10 article backlinks which have been indexed by Google, you should start seeing a bit more google love.

    • You must be in a different country.
  • Why there are difference between the site with www and w/out www when indexing in google I thought it was the same process regarding indexing in google?
    • [1] reply
    • It is the same process, what he is saying is don't create backlinks to www.youwebsite.com and to yourwebsite.com, you have to choose one format and stick with it.

  • Try submitting to some link directories too. It can take time, but if you don't give up you will start to have that residual income you are seeking (though small at first). You might want to consider creating a couple of other projects at the same time, or growing the content on this site.

  • 1 month :-)

    - 2 words ... more backlinks

be sure the are to the correct url as advised above. #2 on page one seems doable - but youve got a load more work to do ...

wasting time with angela's backlinks at 30 per month.

the #1 placeholder appears to have over 40k inbound links pointing to their domain ... I didnt see or look over their targeted anchor texts - so ... theres that.

    • I can rank in a month. Trust me I've done it before. And the #1 people don't have my keyword in their domain. I'm taking them on no problem. I'm not only doing Angela's backlinks. I said I'm also doing article marketing and hubpages where I can. (hubpages don't allow weapons)
  • Good point! It looks like you have a re-direct that prohibits the page to be seen with the www.

When building backlinks, use your http:// yoursite.com/ instead of
    http:// www. yoursite.com

Also, do you have a sitemap?

    • I just noticed that! I don't have a redirect?? What's going on?? I guess I'll have to ask my host.

Redirect solved. Let's see how it does now
    • Yes I have a sitemap that I submitted to Google. I'm gonna have to figure out this redirect problem. That seems to be the issue.

  • Well you are ranking for terms that you have built backlinks to so you are doing some stuff right. Just make sure to keep building backlinks without the www and you should be fine.

There are other people that can definitely leverage more backlinks than you can so once you can afford it you should start looking to outsource more and more of your offsite seo.

I attached the market samurai rank check and although nothing is exact all the numbers they give are close enough.
  • I can't seem to get the www version indexed! Help??
  • You don't really need to get the www version indexed if that is not what you are using or building backlinks to. If you are building backlinks to both STOP! Just go with the one that is ranked higher (seems like without www is the way to go for you) and stick with it from here on out for all of your seo efforts.

    Best of luck.
