What would you do with this power....

Hey,

So I think I found a loophole in the big G. I mean a serious loophole, and I really don't know what to do with the information because, as it is a loophole, it is a legal whitehat loophole.

What does the power entail?

I've tested it now on 15 sites, and I'm able to move a site from rank 500 to rank #1-#5 in literally 24 hours.

No joke.

So....

If you found this, would you package it off?
Keep it for yourself?
Let everyone know publicly?
Tell Google in good faith they will never ban or deindex a site of yours again?

I guess I'm just looking for a little pat on the back? But seriously, what would you do?
#search engine optimization #power
  • I would package it and sell it to a limited number of people like myself.

I would cap sales at 50 people, and then squeeze as much peach juice as I could from that peach.
  • Ok,

How much do you want for the information?

I'll pat you on the back to, as often as you like.
  • [DELETED]
    • [2] replies
    • But keep in mind that if you give this to too many people, it may soon become a loophole closed and lose its power.
      • [1] reply
    • Google's 'personalized' search does the same thing for me.

      I don't know why I didn't start using it sooner...

      ~Bill
      • [ 4 ] Thanks
  • You prob already have an idea in mind thats why your teasing us with it already....Your already marketing it to us
  • Ha DNChamp,

like the attitude... but no, I'm not really going to sell it, from being in this industry for a handful of years as TPW also said, I can safely say any loophole exploited for IM cash tends to die rather quickly.

Really I'm just looking for a pat on the back because it's one of those things you can't tell anyone...lol

So... no... this is no a WSO pre sale thread, just me being an ass.
    • [1] reply

    • I am not looking to pat you on the back unless you send me a pm with a private share. LOL
  • Goodness - someone has finally found the holy grail !!!!!

If I were you I would tell no one, other than one person with a forum username of profitsforall and milk this loophole for all it's worth.

Does this work for any site regardless of competition? e.g if it does, why wouldn't you just rank your sites for money making keywords and reap the huge benefits.

You could also offer this as a service - this way you don't reveal the technique to others but still make money (but I'd still prefer the 1st option).
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • profitsforall,

as I have been. but that service idea is not a bad idea, however I would need access to your servers and root folders of the domain.

This is what I have been seeing with this method. It works with any competition, but you still have to have the right assets in your website. You need backlinks, but basically the method gives ALL POWER to your backlinks.

You ever have a site with 10,000 backlinks and still rank #555 in the top 1000.

Well basically, it gives all power to the 10k and you'll be #1.

If you only have 10 backlinks, you'll move, but not to the top.

    -------------------------------------------

So What i did, is commented the poop out of a site till it reached 25,000 backlinks for a main money making keyword.

I got sandboxed, reevaluated whatever you want to call it real quick. But then did my little magic, and jumped all the way to the top with 5,000,000 competing pages.

So far 5 mill has been my reach.

    • Well LMC,

Consider yourself truly patted on the back......

(whilst sneaky pickpocket rifles your pockets to discover the secret, so far I've just found pocket fluff)
    • This thread is a bit like the "Emperor's new clothes", everybody discussing something that might not even exist!
      • [1] reply
  • Oh it exists....

here is a screenshot of one of them:

This was my first test on a keyword that gets 400 something searches a day.
  • Well as he's not trying to sell us those fine looking garments (You mean you can't see them.... how foolish must you feel) then I don't see the problem.

I've seen some of LMC's other posts, and am pretty sure he's walking the walk.

Of course if someone was lying to get some attention I'd give them a pat on the back and a big hug anyway - they would obvioulsy need it.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • If you really want to see something crazy........

    Type into google

hooded fleece jacket (#3) or you can try hooded fleece (#2)

You should see a .net sitting on the top there somewhere, what is on the site... I think nothing but an error.

    How is that possible :p
    • [3] replies
    • Thanks going to reverse engineer your website I'm for real. :p
      • [2] replies
    • hehe - 404 error might not be the best form of monetisation though
    • Ok, thats clever. I'm sold.

Have you made you mind up yet? Can you stop all this bloody teasing now?

What you're doing is the same as me parading past the local alchoholics anon. meeting with a ton of booze over and over again.

  • would you say that sometimes the answer is sitting in front of you the whole time and is there for all to see, but we all look past it and never notice it ?
    • [1] reply
    • The answer is definitely simple at it's best. Understanding how Google's robots read content is very key into figuring this out.

I would recommend searching Google's patents on their algo and robots released back in 2005, some valuable knowledge in there
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Using the loophole on your own sites will probably bring in more dough than you could make from selling it (which might be a shortlived moneymaker once out).

So, if you donÂŽt need the money from selling it, keep it.
  • Kay,

Yea that site is not being monetized... check it in a few days once I monetize it. Been crazy building on Christmas niches this month, originally the site was sandboxed so I tested this "method" on it.

Technically it could be monetized today. But I've got bigger worries with the sites currently making money right now.

    Tryinhere,

That looks more or less like a high PR backlink situation, definitely analyze those 15 backlinks to see where they are coming from. Also would like to know his On site optimization in comparison to the others
    • [1] reply
    • on second thoughts, do case study and publish it. . . .in 24 hours? everyone needs a Christmas boost for their niches

ps: i like how you choose and think of them niches

  • as some one has said earlier, you have the holy grail. it really does come down to two options,

one, find a nice Christmas related niche, set up the product/sales page, and make serious bank,

two, this is the second option, or just the first option, in an advanced stage, write up a WSO of the loophole and how you utilize it, however, google will come across your WSO, and close up that loop hole, but the WSO will sell out as people love this one-shot solutions

either way mr LMC, the gods have given you your Christmas gift

    keep us posted, good man
  • @LMC

    Looking at the 404 site.
My guess is, you make the homepage a 404 page while backlinking it?
PM me if I'm correct LOL

I am breaking my head. Can you please share the methode to us. Number of backlinks more than 3000. How to avoid sandbox nightmare? Exact keyword domain is the 1st factor.

Waiting your sharing man. I PMed you.

    Just getting started... lol
  • LMC, I made one change to one of my sites main page the other day and had some
    really interesting results also.

The change not only effected my position in Google but also many of the other SE's.
Here is a graph showing the effects of the one simple change.

Is this the type of results you are also seeing?

    Have a Great Day!
    Michael

PS, As of today the sites rank is still holding it's position for the keyword phrase.
    • [1] reply
    • Hey Michael,

Method or not, are graphs would look pretty close to the same.

BTW, what rank tracking software is that? I'm liking it's style.

  • If you are serious then don't sell it. Target the toughest niches and bring them to page one. Fill it up with content and then put adsense with CPA. repeat this for every niche you can and soon enough you will make 5,000$ a day. Don't listen to these people, "sell a limited number", they want your secret.
  • Kan,

My man, obviously I'm not selling the method... trick, whatever you want to call it. As of right now, I've only tested it reaching 5,000,000 in competition against 10,000 backlinked competitors so there is much work to be done.

What I'm waiting to see is what happens a couple weeks to a couple months after my trick, before I invest time...

Yes but does it stick? When that Traffic Geyser came out it worked a treat too. I once grabbed the first 9 spots on Google for a pretty good commercial keyword - until Google woke up to what we were doing.

But let's see...if it's that good, you reckon some might pay you a G for the info? Capped at 200, say? If so...we should talk. I have a fiendish idea...
  • With the aforementioned site...

    I noticed:

The URL is obviously the target keyword
Each link tag in the header contains the URL and therefore the keyword
A hell of a lot of <Link> tags in the header!!
Link rel=start and rel=alternate(2) also contains a title that is the keyword
The keyword as singular and plural exists in description and keywords
But not the title tag - that just has the singular k.w.
The page as presented to Google bot is the same as presented to Firefox, so no trickery in that aspect.

Backlinks from a lot of blogs, maybe used uniquearticlewizard?

But all in all I can't see what he is doing that is so special? But maybe that's the trick... Perhaps it is more to do with the keyword selection itself than what is done to the site.
  • You can sell the package mate, or you can use it for your own and create some mini niche landingpages than use affiliate marketing to make some money. or you can share it for free on WF
  • Metronicity,

Yea, I stated above... I got to wait till I see G's reactions to the site, as of now they still float in the same area, I mean the mentioned site in this thread has been there since Dec 8th, but that is still not enough time to tell.

Done this on 15 sites, so far only 1 has not stuck, so I'm trying to figure out why, and I think it has to do with outbound link ratio to content, which in the new G algo is ridiculously important.
  • I found out the secret. It's that extremely attractive blonde on homepage
    • [ 7 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
  • Well, if the site has been up there since Dec 8, you've obviously deleted the entire site prior to that as there are 100+ non-existent indexed pages in Google now and the latest cached page I can see is Dec 2. Not really sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
  • The pages are still there... just check the feed and follow the permalinks, lots of content but it doesn't seem very optimized for that keyword though...

However, there are 3900+ backlinks to the domain which is far more than the #2 and #3 has... they've got something like 10 or 20 backlinks to the page that ranks for hooded fleece jacket.

And the link to the feed is in the html-source, so the google bot could follow it that way.

There is also a robots.txt with the:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow:

which looks pretty pointless... but then again, it was a loophole, right?

Content + backlinks + exact keyword domain... loophole?
  • Well, LMC, you just took down the feed and the content from the permalinks... any comment?
  • Matt, and Crew,

Also note, that Google released the Algo change more of a statement in reference to Vitaly. However if you follow Google you will see the changes they made are very limited and in fact are "pending changes" not actual changes.

They simply can not utilize bad customer reviews as a ranking factor as it would lead to a flow of spam reviews, and there is no way to credit a "good" bad review to a "bad" bad review.

Thus, in reality, the algo changes simply is we are working on it.
  • Danny,

Yea... I'm going to monetize the site lol

Have my developers working on it now... the feeds had nothing to do with it.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

Well, if I had a technique that I was pretty sure about, I would definitely not have started a thread like this. And I definintely wouldn't sell it as a WSO. I would just exploit the crap out of it and make a bunch of money.

Just from a quick look, I would say maybe you're just doing mass amounts of site-wide links all with similar anchor text. And possibly you might have 301 redirected some other sites to give it some extra juice.

I have software that deep searches links. I found this site when you released your dumbanddumber costume. • Eager2,

    I don't get your comment.

Yes initially I was ranking well, but I backlinked the site into the grave into Google's Sandbox.

This entire post was about moving from 500 to the top, in 24 hours.
    • [2] replies
    • Yes, it's called building links.

Everytime I was "sandbox'ed" I just do an AutoPligg blast and I go back to Top 10 in 24 hours. Of course, there are other methods to build links.

Opps.! Did I leak your "secret"?
    • Sorry, I didn't know that. I figured it was always ranking high and there was no special trick... I may have misunderstood that it suddenly shot up and was ranking low.

Funny, I had the same thing happen recently to 3 other sites, good rankings, completely dead for a week(700), then back up even stronger.
  • Beware of Google loopholes -- they're camouflaged mousetraps. You go in and out couple of times and then you go in one more time and Zap... your A-- is grass.
  • Did you take redirect affiliate links away? I had hunch that adding that hurt my rankings.
  • Al,

I don't think and AutoPligg would do it everytime in 24hrs... but I may be wrong. But that's not it. But nice tip.

    Eager,

I did move my affiliate links off the page to get google to love me again initially.

  • I wonder why your contact and site map links in the footer lead me to your index...
  • Diane,

Because they are worthless links right now.
  • This thread has given me a very interesting idea or two...

Does this method take just a minute or two to implement once you're in the whole "sandbox" scenario?
  • mattward...

hmmmm... 30 seconds was my fastest implementation.
  • 301 redirect every page/most pages on your website to your homepage/money pages. Then backlink your 301 redirect pages heavily because each page has a certain tolerance before it gets sandboxed by Google. By having multiple pages you are able to create more links at a faster pace, without the risk of getting sandboxed. Enjoy.
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • Ahhhh....initital...

nice post. However a 301 redirect would be the wrong redirect to use. Well... I actually haven't tested it out because logically there is a better redirect and that would be:

    301 - 57 + 58 = ???
    • [1] reply
    • Banned
Why would it be a 302? 301's are the ones that pass the juice.
  • I'm not sure why you are asking this question. Pirates bury their treasure, Coke keeps the recipe in a vault. Exploit it for everything its worth. Don't even give a thought to sharing it. If you make a lot of money, give it to charity. Obviously, people would like you to share your secret so they can enrich themselves, but there is no real reason for you to sell the treasure map.
  • LMC, since a 302 is a temporary redirect, why don't you try killing the redirect and see how long you hold your ranking, switching back and forth as needed to see if you can maintain the ranking.
  • Gail,

The 302 has been removed since Dec 8th....

302's will pass link juice, but it is a temporary redirect. This is the whitehat loophole. If google sees you 301 redirecting and placing it on and off multiple pages, things will be fishy since a 301 is meant to permanently move the contents.

While a 302 simply is a temporary redirect, generally used with Under Construction pages...

  • I guess what I was proposing was something like this:

The feeder site can be a new or aged domain. Then you would normally have "P" posts or pages internally linking to your homepage, but instead you would just 301 redirect everything to the homepage of the feeder site and then 301 redirect the domain to your main homepage.
  • One other question, why are you going after 2 keywords that get 720 and 320 exact match searches per month that have competition of SEOC 1,060,000 and SEOTC 130,000 and SEOC 539,000 and 138,000?

    • Hi Paulie888,

I don't know how it works in your country and it's been a while since I was at school, but to the best of my memory in my country LMC's sum would have been classed as incorrectly written - it should have had parentheses to signify which operation is carried out first.

But regardless, there was a reason I said 'duh!' and used an embarrassed smiley.
      • [1] reply
  • Actually, 302's TAKE the link juice, or they used to many years ago. That was a big exploit at one time but now the main search engines basically ignore them and treat them as 301's which is probably why it ranked, that and because they were internal redirects.

Might be worth un-redirecting and if you see a drop, redirect again. Maybe you can create a "stay on top of google" switch while flying a little lower under Googles radar.

    58 - 57 + 301 = ??

    301 + 58 - 57 = ??

    (301 + 58) - 57 = ??

    • This is great. I'm sure that given your past tendencies, you're probably going to ramp this up and outsource the creation and backlinking of many such sites?
  • LMC -

Please create a blog, and journal your success with this technique. No need to reveal the method, or the names of the sites you create, but it would be interesting to see how much money you make out of it, and after the 'judgment day' when Google closes the loophole you can tell us what it was, and let us kick ourselves!

Anyhow, what you've found yourself is really impressive. What would be even more impressive is if you were able to somehow come up with a way to make money from your find - by selling a wso - but at the same time not ruining this loophole for yourself.

You've already got a few buyers here, including myself.

    302 Redirect and Search Engines

When a URL returns a 302 redirect, it means that the owner of this link asks users to continue to use this address as the redirect could be modified at some later time. The owner of the page pointed to by the redirect is not necessarily the same person and might not wish that its contents is presented as belonging to another web site.

The challenge for search engines is to allocate the content to the appropriate address.
If both addresses belong to the same domain, one can consider that the recommendation of the unique owner has to be followed.
When the addresses belong to different domains, Google and other search engines used to try to follow the rule suggested by RFC2616. This created many technical problems and potential conflicts related to intellectual property rights. After years of confusion, Yahoo and then Google decided to stop attributing a content to a URL of an external site.

as quoted from the "Internet Officer" -

As the part in bold says, if Google is not attributing the the content of the 302 redirect to the actual "external" site, then by default it may be attributing it to the URL of the redirect. If so, then the PR/SEO juice is attributed to that URL, despite whatever it is pointed to via the redirect.

    Interesting.
