Homepage PR vs. Actual Page PR - Enlighten me on this (backlinks)

Hello World. I just have a little query on the whole homepage PR vs. actual page PR thing as it pertains to backlinks. When the homepage has high PR but the actual page your link is placed on is PR N/A, is that still any good or is it really worthless?

If it is worthless, then backlinks from sites such as EzineArticles wouldn't do much because the actual page your article (and backlinks) are on is PR N/A. And those profile links you may be building to would mean the same thing.

Help me out on this one.

They aren't worthless, but they certainly aren't as powerful as getting a link on a page that has PR.

Another note on profile backlinks. Say you blast 1000 normal Xrumer profile backlinks. About 25% of those are going to come on PR1+ websites = 250 backlinks from PR1+ websites. About 25% of those aren't going to be visible to the search engines = 188 from PR1+ websites that are visible to the search engines. Of those only 10% or less will be naturally indexed by Google = 19 backlinks from PR1+ websites that are visible to the search engines that will be indexed by Google. In other words 1.9% of your blast was effective in creating a PR0 backlink.

Night and day. Terry Kyle has done extensive research on this topic, and he found that the link juice passed from profile links, although powerful, do not match up to the link power that is provided by dofollow links on the homepage of a high PR site. And if you think about it, that makes perfect sense.

Backlinks from an internal page with pr 0 (not necessarily N/A) on a domain of pr 1 is more powerful than a backlink from an internal page with pr 0 on a domain with pr 0 but generally not as powerful as a backlink from any page with a pr 1.

Also, in reply to InitialEffort, just because a profile is not publicly viewable does not mean that it is not passing on seo benefits. Many forums have the capability to allow special access to specific search engine spiders that WILL crawl profiles and pass on seo benefits. I know that every forum platform that Xrumer can register to out-of-the-box does have this capability.

There is of course tons of benefits to passing on information that profiles that are not publicly viewable do not pass on seo "juice". I can understand the competitiveness of seo but I believe that people who blatantly lie (not pointing any figures) to get a leg up against honest hard-working individuals are trash.
