Page one on google - should I outsource my linking?

Its taken about 4 months to hit first page of google with my current link campaign. I am curious how long it will take for my position on page one to stick, rather than me stop my campaign and lose position, or if i should outsource my linking.

In other words I am not sure what factors to consider if I should do less backlinking if I have a steady place on the first page. If the answer is to keep the link campaign going no matter what, when should I begin to outsource this? Feels odd that though I finally rank well for my keyword, I am not fully sure how to handle it

Hard to say. Personally, I would keep doing what you are doing because it was good enough to get you there. A site I am working on now got stuck at 11 / 12 for what seemed like almost 2 months. However, follow the lather rinse REPEAT method, and eventually, voila, welcome to page one. Now it is at 8. Don't let off the gas, stay on the throttle, and maybe accelerate a bit.

You should never stop your seo efforts just for the sake of stopping. If you are not getting enough traffic then you need to rank higher and if you're the top listing on page one and not getting enough traffic only then can you think about stopping but only because you'll be going for a keyword with more traffic and profitability.

You should begin to outsource it once you have turned a profit with the campaign. If you know your keyword is profitable and you can afford it you can outsource the work from the start but if you're not that great at picking profitable keywords you could test the waters on your own.
